I’ve purchased 2 cars from Colonial Dodge and would rate the sales experience extremely high. The issue is their service department, which will prevent me from doing any future business with them. The qua the sales experience extremely high. The issue is their service department, which will prevent me from doing any future business with them. The quality of their workmanship is poor and makes it hard to believe all the technician certification plaques they have on the wall are for people that actual work there. The issues I’ve had are too long to list in this review, but here are a few words of advice for anyone who decides to try their service department. 1)Check all their work COMPLETELY before leaving the dealership. They replaced a failed electronic door lock and in the process broke off the manual lock knob. They also reinstalled the door panel incorrectly so when I opened the sliding door it jammed. 2)Don’t fall for the SAFETY line. They’ll always find additional issues and when you say no, will tell you it’s a safety issue and you shouldn’t be driving the car. I caught them lying about my brakes that had been checked a week before elsewhere when the tires were replaced. 3)Compare prices. They charged me almost $300 to replace 6 spark plugs, which the other local dealer does for $175 and now gets all my service business. 4)If you purchased an extended warranty with the car, let them know before they start work. They openly admit their sales and service groups operate independently and only new car Chrysler plans are shared between their systems. Also, check directly with the warranty provider about coverage. They told me a repair was not covered and when I called the warranty provider, they said it was and sent me check. More
I have been going to this dealership for about five years now, never knew I could rate it, however my experience has been wonderful, from the sales department to the service department. Very pleasant helpful now, never knew I could rate it, however my experience has been wonderful, from the sales department to the service department. Very pleasant helpful and HONEST people in that dealership. I have personally bought three vehicles from them as well as most of my family members we will not go anyplace else. One stop service is how I explain it. The service personnel are great, we go in for our routine oil changes and they always do a free inspection to our vehicles tell us what is going on and what may be needed in the future. It may not seem like an issue now but we need to watch this leak to see if it gets any worse. I know when I leave that dealership my vehicle is safe for my family. I have never been sold anything I didn't need. The prices are great, after my entire vehicle is being worked on by certified technicians. That is what I like a piece of mind knowing everything is good. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone. Very trustworthy and honest people. I love being on theri VIP list they email me when my vehicle is due for service and send coupons to boot.. More
Every time I go in for an oil change, and the only reason I have been going is because I bought a Chrysler coupon book from a dealer who is now out of buiness for 28 oil changes, they find all sorts of bogus I have been going is because I bought a Chrysler coupon book from a dealer who is now out of buiness for 28 oil changes, they find all sorts of bogus extra work. My regular mechanic never agrees with their diagnosis, and he has an incentive to agree because he'd get to do the work. I just don't trust them. The people are really nice, but they're trying too hard to keep their service bays busy. More
Well...here it is in a nutshell. I really have to wonder if this really is a case of fraud...flat out fraud. NOTHING was seemingly performed as promised - No repairs were successfully completed. I like to if this really is a case of fraud...flat out fraud. NOTHING was seemingly performed as promised - No repairs were successfully completed. I like to think people are honest, but I don't know what to think of this. You can determine what you wish about the following... I ended up taking the Jeep to another dealer to get the service performed. Colonial Dealer Claim: Front & rear diff fluids, tranny & transfer case are black and need to be changed. Wanted to chaged $400+ for the service. CHECK: No evidence of wrench marks on fill bolts. Changed front & rear diff myself - fluid far from black. It was dirty, but nothing like I was led to believe on the phone. ISSUE: No wrench marks on fluid covers/fill bolts. Dirt/grim/rust still intact around bolts. So what did they actually check? (Engine oil was freshly changed by someone else too). Cust Request: Jeep has a vibration. Check alignment & balance tires. Colonial Dealer Claim: Jeep was way out of alignement. Check: Probably was. ISSUE: Still had vibration. Took to another dealer, (b/c George NEVER called about parts.) Other dealer performed alignment and said the jeep was out of alignment. Clearly they did not do an alignment if it had to be realigned after driving it home and then to another dealer. Cust Request: ESP/BAS, Traction control lights are on, Window switch light is out. Colonial Dealer Claim: Parts are necessary to complete repair...Parts would be in on Tuesday. FACT: Dealer did not order parts until Thursday (almost a WEEK after the jeep went in for service) per Service Manger Terry/Tammy. Cust Request: Door does not shut properly. Colonial Dealer Claim: Door alignment was repaired. FACT: No change in door performance. ISSUE: Door still not aligned. Cust Request: Look for squeak... Colinial Dealer Claim: Squeek caused by TSB Rattle FACT: Bolts were missing from the hardtop. ISSUE: Dealer claimed to repair - sqeek still present. No change to complaint. Other dealer found missing bolts were missing & replaced them. Problem solved. During the service, he never called as promied. I always had to call. I got a call from a survey person before the service was even completed!! So I called to request my money back...the Service Manager's reponse: well maybe not all of it. I say unacceptable - I want it all back. I was lied to, parts were not ordered, and services were not performed (is that fraud??? I don't know). HERE IS WHAT I KNOW, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DEALER OR RECCOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. Service Manager was going to speak to her boss about getting 'some' of my money back. I said it was unacceptable...I wanted all of my money back...so we will see what happens. If they refund my money, I will post an update. (if possible). More
