I recently purchased a 2013 Honda Civic at Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence. At the time, I let Mr. Palermo know I was comparing the Toyota Corolla with the Civic and was not ready to purchase at that time. He highlighted the differences in the features between the two vehicles and offered me a test drive, of which I was much obliged. After driving the Civic, I let Steve know I would be doing the same with the Corolla. About a week later, Steve followed up with me and was quite agreeable to my request for my wife to take ride in the car. He was patient with us, never pushy, and always gracious in answering our numerous questions. When it came to price, he was fair, open-minded , and provided the environment for respectful negotiations. This was my first time at Commonwealth Motors. I can honestly say I was treated with respect by Mr. Palermo, along with his manger and the financing representative. They seemed genuinely happy to make me happy about this car buying experience. I bought my car from Commonwealth Honda 3 years ago, and didn't have the best experience. I did give them my honest review at that time, and then never really heard from them until this year, on my 3 year didn't have the best experience. Chris called me and wanted to know how they could repair the customer/business relationship. I was surprised, considering it had been 3 years, that they were looking to make up for my experience. I was having a problem with the alarm and remote starter they installed and there was a possible parasitic drain causing my batteries to die very quickly. I asked Chris if he would fix those items, free of charge, even though my car was out of warranty. He spoke to a few people and then had me come in the next day and they did just that. Chris spent 20 minutes or so talking to me about my experience and apologizing for the experience, and kept me up to date on the progress of the repair. It was an extremely pleasant experience and I am so glad they called me and extended an olive branch. I actually ended up becoming a customer again as I needed an oil change and tire rotation, so I had them do it for a very reasonable price. The morale of my story is that even though I didn't have a positive experience at first, they rectified the situation. They care about retaining business and getting referrals, not just getting your businesses once and then saying goodbye. I am extremely pleased with the people that helped me: Chris, Brian and Jim, and the people in the service department who fixed the issues. Thank you so much! I am so happy the battery drain is fixed and the remote starter/alarm are working again! You certainly have changed my mind about your business, and I will be more than happy to become a customer again, and refer people needing service or making car purchases. I also would like to add related to my purchasing experience, that they do give you the best price when buying your car. I did some haggling when I bought the car and got it down to a reasonable price, and no other Honda dealer would match it (and I went to several to check!). They also gave me more money for my trade than anyone else was willing to. So another reason to “Shop Us last” as they say. More

Aside from being quite possibly the happiest person I've ever met, he was attentive, knowledgable, and took the time to explain a Commonwealth Honda. I originally went to Commonwealth to look at a Certified Used car, but when I was still uncertain about committing to the purchase, Wilson took the time to explain a lease option to me, and why it would be a better fit. He was straightforward, and I am confident he worked on my behalf to get me the best deal possible. The best part was there was no pressure- it literally took me 3 weeks to make a decision- and all of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The showroom was clean and organized, and Wilson even took the time to give me a tour of their service facilities and rates.
