This is why car dealers get a bad rap.. I have a 2019 Murano SL that is 2 yrs into a 3 yr lease. I heard about how used cars were bringing big numbers, more than any payoff number. So I logged into Vroom Murano SL that is 2 yrs into a 3 yr lease. I heard about how used cars were bringing big numbers, more than any payoff number. So I logged into Vroom, Car Max and one other website where they give u a number on your car, come pick it up and send u a check.. I called Concordville Nissan because they had a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SL in the color I want.. I told theyre sales person, Ashley that I wanted to lease the vehicle and I had already gotten 2 offers for over $30k (my payoff is only $26454. I was told by Ashley I had to use their trade in calculator on their website so I did.. It came back with an offer of over $34k!! Meanwhile, Nissan changed their policy and 3rd party buyback companies cant be used to buy the car from me, only a Nissan dealer! First they told me I had to come down to the dealer (45 mins away) so they could do an appraisal (my car is flawless and only 16k miles after 2 years). Then a sales manager called me back to tell me they would give me that $34k number site unseen and put the difference of the payoff towards a down payment which would get my 36 month, 10k miles a year lease down to $375 a month (which was the number I needed). So I head down to the dealer, they do an appraisal and tell me they’d give me $29k.. and on top of that, they couldn’t find which sales manager called me saying they’d give me that full $34k offer. So they showed me a list of 3 payment options based on HUGE down payments. The first was $2700+ down and a payment of $575.. What a racket!! Complete waste of my time.. I hate dealing with car dealers. They’re all scummy..Bait and switch all day.. Chris J. More
