Sales Great, but F&I slow to close the deal My wife and I visited Boulder Toyota to buy a specific Prius C we had seen online. We were paired up with salesman Greg "Wally" Walburn, who went wit My wife and I visited Boulder Toyota to buy a specific Prius C we had seen online. We were paired up with salesman Greg "Wally" Walburn, who went with us on a test drive during which we decided to make an offer on the car. We told Wally the price we needed to be at to buy, and after he checked with his manager we agreed on final terms in about 10 minutes. (Wally was fantastic, and I do recommend him without pause. He was very knowledgeable about the car and did everything he could to keep the process moving along quickly. He even took the time to explain some additional features of the car to my wife after I had to leave.) Since we were paying cash, and based on my past experience buying cars, we would have thought we would be out the door in about an hour after that. Sadly, no. It took two hours after agreeing to terms to get to the closing table, which the Manager I spoke with chalked up to being because they had only 3 F&I people there that day and had sold 7 cars. Well, maybe you need a 4th F&I person available rather than have customers waste their valuable time sitting around. The wait soured for us what could have otherwise been an exceptional car-buying experience, to the extent that I can rate Boulder Toyota as no higher than average and would give no compelling recommendation to someone I know who is shopping for a car. It's only because of the outstanding work of our salesperson that our rating is not lower. Next time we buy a car we'll do so elsewhere. More
