I have had several versions of the Toyota cars and trucks since 1980s. They have all performed well with decent interiors and reasonable technology updates (not the best by far but still acceptable). I was very excited when I bought my 2018 Toyota Tundra (2nd Tundra in less than 3 yrs), a 1794 edition. Within few months of ownership, the truck’s starting system stopped functioning (got stranded in a parking lot). The new heavy duty brakes are squeaking like crazy. The incredibly smooth transmission has intermittent clunking when down shifting while coming to a stop and the emergency brake is almost nonexistent. The final straw which prompted me to write this review was when the truck wouldn’t start with the remote key after having it fixed several months earlier. When I contacted the Toyota Dealer from where I purchased the vehicle they pretended (or had no clue) as to what I was referring to and told me the truck was fine. I explained to them that this time my battery may be dying (less than 2 yrs old) or may not have enough cold cranking amperage) as the vehicle would start otherwise but would not start with a remote when the temperature fell below 25 degrees Fahrenheit. I had taken my vehicle to the Liberty Toyota dealership few times already and they have not even charged my batteries let alone diagnose the problem. If I had known I was going to have all these troubles I would have kept my old truck or bought a different brand. I believe Toyota released this truck too early without properly testing all if it’s systems(no factory installed remote start or a push start button). I will say, the truck very quiet and roomy and the interior is somewhat comfortable compared to my previous truck. The ride quality is not bad either. That said, the technical issues and the inconvenience of routine stops at the dealership outweigh the comfort. I would not recommend buying one of these trucks until after the bugs are worked out. More
