Oh boy am I excited to share with you my experience at courage Kia of Gastonia!!! I bought a brand new 2022 Kia Soul in 2021 and the transmission blew before I even made my first payment. The service d courage Kia of Gastonia!!! I bought a brand new 2022 Kia Soul in 2021 and the transmission blew before I even made my first payment. The service department made me beg them for a loaner car so that I could get back and forth to work after having spent well over $20,000 on a brand new vehicle a few weeks prior Fast forward to a couple months ago, and the engine on my car blew at 67000 miles. Covered by warranty, thankfully. I dropped my car off and was told that they would look at it by the end of the week. I called at the end of the week and they told me to call back the middle of next week. When I called back they told me they would have a chance to look at my car in the next couple days. I called back 4 days later and was told the same thing. Finally after about a month they took a look at my car and told me that it had timing issues with the engine. Yes, just like I said when I dropped the car off. They still hadn't provided me with a loaner vehicle yet so at this point I began to beg. I needed a way back and forth to work or I was totally screwed. Begging didn't work so I switched over to making threats. And all I threatened was to share my honest experience with as many potential customers as possible so that everyone would know what they were dealing with if they went to this dealership. Suddenly they were able to get me a loaner vehicle! This began another process of repeatedly being told my car would be done in a few days. Then one night I backed into a sign with a loaner vehicle. I immediately informed my insurance company and informed the dealership. Finally after over 7 weeks of my car sitting there, it was finally fixed. Daniel in the service department no longer had to lie to me every few days. I go to the dealership to pick up my car and return the loaner vehicle, and this is where things got really interesting! Craig (little guy, angry, graying hair), the head of the service department, informs me that before releasing my vehicle to me I must pay them my full insurance deductible. He requested this without even knowing what my deductible was, and more importantly, without any estimate for the damage being provided. I told him that was not going to happen, and that I would be taking my car home today. I don't have an emotional connection to the situation so I wasn't really revved up, but Craig sure was! He told me that his company policy that they keep my vehicle until I pay them my full deductible, I told him that I don't work for his company so I don't need to abide by his company's policies. He told me he would call the police and I chuckled to myself about his lack of understanding about the function of law enforcement in America. I told him I was going to get in my car and leave and he told me he would have me charged with theft and I told him I thought he should go ahead and charge me with theft. All the while thinking about how the police would react to being told that someone stole their own vehicle. It's so absurd that it's hilarious, and I did my best to hold in my laughter as Craig started turning red. As I get in my car he tells me, "well go f*xx yourself then!" I turned to him and say, "goodbye, Craig." And as I'm pulling away he cries out, voice cracking, face a deep crimson, "I hope you have the day you deserve!", with no understanding of the ease with which I could have taken his teeth home in my pocket to show my friends. So they'll sell you a piece of garbage car that you cannot rely on, when you bring it to them for repairs they will make you beg or threaten them to get a loaner car, they will take their time fixing your car and lie to your repeatedly about when it will be done. If you file an insurance claim on your loaner car they'll try to hold your car hostage until you pay them your full deductible even though there has not been an estimate of the damage done to the loaner vehicle. This dealership goes above and beyond to help you get the car that you're looking for no matter how long it takes. I don't like to feel rushed or like someone is trying to convince me of what kind of car the car that you're looking for no matter how long it takes.
