Sorry David has to take the fall for the Dealership because those "up the line" are too sorry to put their name(s) on anything. Loved the vehicle, was ready to buy, and then the lies and manipulation More

Daniel, Thank you for being willing to discuss this matter. You can follow the email trail through your staff. David Harbin was my salesperson and I included him in most - if not all of the correspondence. In Summary: You have on your lot even today, the vehicle we have been discussing for two weeks. It is an Astra Blue Carnival EX / Stock # P6261599/ with a Saddle Brown Interior. When I met David, there was one on the showroom floor with a whole list of Dealer add on items that brought the sales price to $47,475. The one I drove had NO dealer ad on items applied, and I was not interested in any of them anyway. SO - negotiations ensued and your dealership offered me a trade in value of $33K. We went back for an eternity with your end starting with a vehicle sales price at $47,475 and me working from the point of view that the vehicle cost would be $40,685 - minus trade in of $33K for a net $8 K out of pocket. Back and forth we went for several days, and it reached a point where a spreadsheet was sent that included the "Courage Advantage." I replied back and agreed that IF they took off the Courage Advantage - as had previously been agreed to - (again), I would increase my "out of pocket" to $11,675 all in - per their spreadsheet. "Whew, finally getting this deal done!!" Not a chance..... The reply THEN was that "there is no way your car is worth 33K so to make this work you need to add another $4k to your cash difference." "Only a fool would presume the trade in value of your car could be $33K." - Followed up with "Clearly we are too far apart, and we need to invest our time in selling this vehicle to another customer. I'm still here. Your vehicle is still there!!! Send me something in writing that makes my bottom line after trade in $11,675.00 and I will bring you the title for the trade in and a Cashier's Check for $11,675.00. Charles Yates As an aside: Per the Federal Trade Commission and Section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act – a consumer cannot be “forced” to purchase “dealership added features” to a new or used vehicle that the consumer does not want. This is also supported by and adhered to by NCDOT – the Licensure Agency responsible for issuing Dealership Licenses in North Carolina. Kia has announced some new incentive programs. Maybe now is the time that Kia feels they have inventory on the ground, can sustain moving them, and prepare for the 2023 model arrivals. This may give me more "Credit" towards reducing the sales price of this vehicle??? 7 weeks ago, two cargo ships (the Thruxton and the Gracious Ace) left the port in Pyeontaek Korea and arrived in Tacoma Washington 5 weeks later. Auto Warehouse Company accepted both shipments (8,500 Kia vehicles per ship) and they are unloaded and in transit all over the place. Bulk “mid point” destinations are in Arizona, Texas, Georgia.
