I ensured that I waited a week prior to posting as to not post rashly. I spoke with the new car salesperson for quite some time in preparation to purchase a new Hyundai Sonata. The salesperson finally to not post rashly. I spoke with the new car salesperson for quite some time in preparation to purchase a new Hyundai Sonata. The salesperson finally told me that they had the vehicle I was looking for was allocated to their dealership. I offered a deposit to hold and received no response until he texted and said it had arrived. I told him I would leave Dayton Ohio immediately and it would take me about 2.5 hours to drive down. I verified I would be bringing the proper form of down payment. The salesperson confirmed that they knew I was on my way. I arrived 20 minutes prior to the time I told the salesperson. When I found the salesperson I was speaking via text he said they had just sold the car I had driven from Dayton to purchase. I asked to speak to the manager who said they would not hold a car unless they had a deposit. I told him I inquired about a deposit and offered him the text chain. He looked at the text on his computer and said he saw what I was talking about but said there was nothing he could do for me. I drove my family 2.5 hours each way to purchase a car with not even a courtesy call when it was sold to someone else while I was driving. Not only did this cost me 60+ dollars in gasoline but over 5 hours out of our day. There was barely an apology no acknowledgement of wrong doing by the dealership. At the very least they could have offered something to make up for their terrible handling of the situation. Part of the reason I decided to drive down was the good reviews of this dealership. I am very upset and disappointed in the way we were treated. More
