While getting an oil change I walked into the showroom and I saw the word hybrid on the side of an Accord. I was surprised to see that on a four door sedan and starting to ask redundant questions from Van the salesman. He answered as quick as 123. I was impressed he knew his products so well from a Technical point of view because I was an electronic tech contractor myself. I appreciated there was no pressure and I purchased the car. I bought a 2010 Honda Element EX on 04/04/2011. I traded my 2005 Honda Accord and I received $6000 for my trade. The absolute most unprofessional interaction with a service department that I have EVER experienced. When you buy a new car, you expect to at least be treated with a certain degree of respect from the service department that I have EVER experienced. When you buy a new car, you expect to at least be treated with a certain degree of respect from the dealership that you spent thousands of dollars at. Apparently, this dealership subscribes to an alternate business model. The words rude and arrogant come to mind. We WERE in the market for a Honda Pilot, in addition to the new honda I bought several months ago from D'Ella, but thanks to how I was treated by a glorified parts clerk, they've lost out on that sale. My mom was going to buy a new CR-V from them in the next couple weeks also, but she is now buying from another dealership after my experience. So, job well done smug parts clerk, keep walking around with that chip on your shoulder and the undeserved sense of accomplishment! I will NEVER do business here again. If you like being treated like pond xxxx after spending thousands of dollars, I encourage you to spend your hard earned money here, if not, I suggest you shop at a place where your patronage will be appreciated. First let me say I have a 5 year old and a 4 year old that I have to bring with me because my husband is in the military. Ok, that being said...My husband, the kids, and I purchased a 2011 Honda Pilot on Saturday. We were approached by Bob outside after 5 minutes of looking and he got us into a Blue 2011 Pilot to test drive. We decided we wanted to purchase a white Pilot after contemplating between the EX and EX-L. Before going, I got an online quote from the Internet Sales guy, for less than the sticker price. We had a trade in and before discussing prices for the car, Bob had my car appraised and said they'd give me $2,000 for my trade. I said ok and asked him how much the car was. He showed me sticker price, minus my trade in. Well, I already was quoted online for less and showed him my e-mail printed and he talked to his GSM....so he took my online quote, but now they are only giving me $1,500 for my trade. I asked about a military discount and he said no that they are already losing money in the deal, then he asked what my down payment was going to be so they could figure the monthly payments. Let me just say, once he knew our down payment...all negotiations were off. We put a large amount of money down and he did not negotiate a thing. We said we'd like to buy the EX-L if they could throw in the wires for the towing package at $200...Nope. He actually discussed it with his GSM and came back to my husband and I and said "Sorry, No Deal. Thank you for coming in." Huh? I'm about to drop $32,000 + for a frickin' SUV right now and you can't finish the towing package that is already pre-installed but without wires, plus no military discount, and they deducted $500 from my pre-quoted trade. Ok, seriously...the only reason I hung around is because I needed a vehicle that day for the kids and I to be safe driving in, I traded in a Pontiac Aztek. I already did my homework before showing up, so I knew figures on what to expect and he was within $2.00 of my pre-determined monthly payment. Yada yada, we wait for hours, talked to the financial guy, got the extended warranty, he got pre-approval for a personal check over $1,000...then THEY FORGOT to even get our down payment before we left. In fact, they didn't even notice until Tuesday! Ok, so we left Saturday knowing I needed to come back with the kids on Wednesday for a Full Detail, Undercoating Spray, 2nd Master Key, and Full tank of gas they owed me for only leaving me with a tank 1/2 full when I bought it on Saturday. I show up Wednesday morning at 8:55 am with the kids. My appt. was at 9 am and I was told it would be a couple hours. That's fine, I was planning 3 1/2 at most anyways. 2 1/2 hours went by and Bob told me that he's running about 30 minutes behind, but my car is beautiful, shiny, and we're just waiting for the undercoat to dry. After 4 1/2 hours now, I see my car again, but I needed to have my inspection sticker re-positioned because I'm short and had trouble seeing over the front left bumper...plus I had a rattle noise in the "oh crap" bar in the 2nd row seating behind the driver. Well, I was told for a re-inspection I was behind 8 other cars...it had already been 4 1/2 hours with 2 small kids, no lunch, no "rental car" for a few hours, or courtesy car...and now more waiting. Thankfully, Aaron in Service was GREAT, and service only was 50 minutes of the day! He bumped me up sooner and I left at 2:20 pm, now 5 hours and 20 minutes after being there. I was done, had everything finished...OR SO I THOUGHT. I got in the car, after being FULLY detailed and everything else, and noticed dirt, dust, sticky dry soda in my cup holder, greenish-yellow bug splatter on the windshield, and the back trunk had grass/dirt still. Whatever, I did not want to be there anymore and I'll just vacuum and dust it when I get home. So, I went up to Lake George because of the Americade week to see the motorcycles since we were up that way, and on my way up, I noticed plastic wrap under my windshield washer fluid holes on top of my hood. What was I doing at the dealership for 5 hours and 20 minutes with 2 kids for a FULL detail for and still had shrink wrap on my hood? I pulled over and saw that there was still sticker adhesive on the outside on my door and on the front right bumper...at this point I'm THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED. No vacuum, no dusting, no shrink wrap removal, no washing or waxing, no bugs off...basically no detailing...what the what??? What were they doing for 5 hours and 20 minutes, plus we still hadn't eaten lunch? I went back, pretty upset. Nobody was at the front counter after waiting about 3 minutes, so I knocked on Jess Gentry's door, the GSM. He came outside with the kids and I to take a look and he was thoroughly disgusted as well. He apologized, got my car off for a FULL detail immediately, gave me his business card and a free tank of gas next time I'm in the area. After 2 more hours of waiting for the detail (I was still not offered a car while I wait even longer), I can now leave with my kids. At this point it was 4:57 pm, so I was at the dealership for 7 hours and 20 minutes for a Full Detail, Undercoat spray, Full tank of gas, 2nd Master Key, repositioning the inspection sticker, and tightening a screw in the "oh crap" bar, a couple of them even joked that I should've been put on the payroll for the day. Plus I had to give them the check for our down payment because they failed to get it when they printed my receipt on Saturday. All in all, I do not like the way this company does business. I cannot believe they did not give me a car for a few hours, let alone someone offer to get us some lunch, even if not for just the kids (I'd have given them money). Luckily my kids are very well behaved and were troopers all day long! I brought graham crackers, apples, and raisins to snack on and the dealership had chocolate donuts and little cinnamon buns out, but once those were gone, they were gone. I give many thanks to Aaron in Service and to Jess for not just blowing me off about the detailing job, but other than that, today's service was completely UNACCEPTABLE. Come to find out, last night I got on google search and pulled up D'ELLA Honda in Queensbury place page, and they have a $100 off coupon for any car purchased and it expires in April 2012. So why couldn't Bob give us a $100 military discount? C'mon really? The only reason I gave a Bad rating instead of Very Bad was because of Aaron. Also, thank you to Fran for giving the kids a coloring pack after 3 hours to keep them happy for a couple more hours. ***UPDATE JULY 27, 2011***The owner of Della Honda, Anthony Della Bella, did contact me of my experience via phone and e-mail a couple days ago. I spoke with him for about 10 minutes and he apologized for the service I received, as far as waiting all day long with my kids, and assured me that it should never have happened, nor happen again. He was very sincere and I do appreciate his effort. That being said, that does not change the fact that I feel he has shady salesmen working for him. To completely cut off $500 from my trade-in and offer no military discount (when like I said, you can print off a $100 off coupon on Google's Place Page until April 30, 2012) once they found out my down payment and the quoted price I brought in. To say "Sorry, no deal thank you for coming in" when after taking $500 off my trade and offering no military discount, I asked if they could at least throw the wires in for the tow package (a $200 value), but they couldn't even do that, like they didn't even need, or want, my business and said they were already losing money in the deal. Really, it does not cost $33,000 to build a Honda Pilot...they were losing money off their commission. If I absolutely did not need a car the day I went in, I still say I would've taken my business elsewhere...probably someplace I knew honored our military men and women with a discount and would work with me. I understand that I cannot have everything I ask for, but to get absolutely nothing during the purchase of my car and to take back $500 off the trade-in...c'mon, especially when I log on and see that $100 off coupon I could have printed off. I am updating because I was asked to remove or rebutt my post, but I just can't do that. I need to let other people know of the sales aspect shown at this dealership to help them decide where to take thier business. For most of us, a car purchase is the 2nd most expensive purchase we will ever make and we want a pleasurable experience. $33,000 is a lot of money...to most people in America. More
