Purchased here because of Francis I purchased from this dealership bc of Francis Essuman-Nelson, the sales consultant here. Had visited other Toyota dealers that were very vague and n I purchased from this dealership bc of Francis Essuman-Nelson, the sales consultant here. Had visited other Toyota dealers that were very vague and not straight when I asked questions on price and availability. Francis went above and beyond answering all my questions patiently about price and vehicle features. Never talking down to me or pressuring me. Communicated everything with him over the phone/email, he had everything set for me and all I had to do was come in once to sign and pick up my car. I don't live near this dealer and probably could have gone to one closer, but Francis really projected a sense of trust and in the end, I chose to make my purchase here. They were very courteous and professional and prior to coming in to complete the purchase, stayed in touch via email and phone. Tried to initiate bidding war between Ernie and a dealer at [actually not sure if should mention but suffice to say rival local dealership]. After while rival gave solid number. Ernie paused, did some approximate calculations, and offered a significantly better offer, early on.... probably to avoid protracted negotiations....this failed. He was polite and professional but firm throughout. He had made a good offer, and they would not beat it. Eventually [rival] did affirm would make better offer, by about 50 percent more than difference, but only in form of rebate, and in store credit which could use at garage. Not to get too much off topic, but I have been coming to the garage at Darcars for 8 years, and have never been given cause to believe that their garage is trying to cheat me [helps that one of mechanics is friend]. I assumed that based on the alacrity with which store credit was offered (and it being the only thing) that they [rival planned on getting it back] After grueling process, agreed to deal I found his laconic style a relief from the frantic recitations of boiler plate, non sequiturs, and red herrings, from the other dealer, blowing up my phone throughout the process. He was never overly aggressive, and showed great patience throughout the whole process. I came in at a bit before four, and did not leave until after ten, and at no point did he slack of, become irate, or neglect to provide me with necessary information. He seemed determined to see the process through, and was helpful when other issues came up in getting the necessary paperwork. He seemed eager to provide the necessary information to make a reasonable decision as a consumer, and made an offer on the price that was, in addition to being fair, clearly superior to the alternative. Also as a nice touch, I left a rental car there for enterprise to pick up, and he made sure to fill up the tank ( or have it filled up), which I neglected, so I did not get dinged for the extra gas. More

Hard to find an honest dealer Recently in my quest to purchase a new Toyota at a low cost I visited 7 car dealerships and talked to a few others. However at DARCARS Toyota in Frederick I found the sales staff to be very friendly, honest and straightforward which was a refreshing change.
