GREAT CAR LEASING EXPERIENCE!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!! I normally don't write reviews; however, after the experience my wife and I had, I think I owe it to the guys at DCH Montclair to give them a review w I normally don't write reviews; however, after the experience my wife and I had, I think I owe it to the guys at DCH Montclair to give them a review worthy of their service, hard effort, patience with me and their great attitude. I think they will appreciate this review, and I can tell you this is all true, and I had never met these guys before, but you know the reputation car dealers have (I also thought that way) so I want to give them the kudos they deserve. On Saturday, April 13th, 2019 my wife and I leased an 2019 Acura RDX A-Spec from DCH Montclair Acura. Several days earlier, my wife had contacted DCH Montclair Acura after having previously visited another Acura dealership near our house. The process took about 2 days to come to an agreement just by way of exchanging a few emails. While the initial process was done online with Christian Salas, DCH Montclair gave us the better lease or purchase deal that the dealer near our house couldn't match. After having reached an agreement online, my wife and I made an appointment to seal the deal on paper on Saturday. I must first say that I am not a good negotiator, as I can get upset and take things very personal, I also have a short fuse and I am a no-nonsense kind of guy who doesn't trust anyone ever; that is why I asked my wife to take care of this entire process until it was time to sign the papers. Upon our arrival at the dealer I was expecting to meet with Christian who had been great online and over the phone, and I was greeted by Walter Goldman who indicated that he would be taking over. I knew my wife had spoken to Christian, so that kind of ticked me off; however, I did not know that there is an online sales team that sets up the deals, which are later completed by the floor team, so after learning that, I relaxed a bit. It was also helpful that Walter called Christian so we could meet him and tell him that he had done a great job with the price and all the things we wanted, and we had driven about 40 miles to get the SUV because of his effort. He got us in the door, and made us walk away from the dealer about 3 miles from our house. I do remember saying to Walter "I hope you didn't waste my time and the deal hasn't changed at all, otherwise I am out of here". Walter assured me that everything was the same, but I was still not going to trust anyone, that is just me. Walter was very attentive, and with a good sense of humor, and a nice Russian accent. He was able to survive my sarcastic humor by countering it with his own; he did an excellent job at offering us drinks, and making us feel welcome right away. After settling in a little, we went over terms of the contract, which to my satisfaction had not changed from what had been previously discussed with Christian, then Walter offered all the usual additional service contracts, extras the you can purchase, etc. Since I don't trust anyone, I picked a couple of extras I wanted (cargo cover and splash guards), but said no to every service contract because I always though of that as just another way to inflate the dealer's pocket. However, after some time, a second gentleman came in, he was from the Finance Department, his name is Lou Mendez. After again offering us drinks and ensuring that we were satisfied with everything up to that point, we moved to his office where we went over the numbers one more time just before the signatures; at this point he offered some of the same services Walter had already mentioned (I still didn't trust them - when I mean them, I refer to the dealer in general) even though he tried his best and showed me how the services work and even lowered the price a bit. It was then when the Finance Director Hamad Matari came in, he was also very nice and went out of his way, even showing me video demonstrations of how some the products worked. Between them and my wife who can always see the value in things, they were able to convince me to purchase the wheel and tire protection, and the paint and interior protection. I admit that I saw the benefits of what they were explaining, but being hard headed and not wanting to back down, I tried to stick to my guns. However, they made their case in such a convincing way that I could no longer say no to a good deal, besides Hamad did give us a good price by lowering it just a bit more. I regret that I didn't purchase the service agreement, but I wasn't going to give in to everything, it was more of a pride thing to stick to some of my guns. Anyway, I may end up purchasing it now since I think I may have made a mistake by not buying it. I kind of gave Lou a little bit of a hard time with the numbers, because I didn't understand how they separate the different fees, but he and Hamad showed me the figures on the contract once it was printed out, and I was able to see that I wasn't being shorted close to $600. So they were right again. Walter then showed me the car with the additional items that I had purchased, which they installed right there while we were signing papers. The car was beautiful and I was very happy and eager to go eat lunch/dinner at Cuban Petes Restaurant which is close by and Walter had recommended. Great choice by the way. After all the signatures and the usual shaking of hands, it was time to leave and Walter took us to our new SUV to show us all the features, which I sure as xxxx can't remember already. He helped us set up the infotainment system, pair the phone, all that fun stuff, and then we left. So that was our experience!!! I think it was great, much better than I had anticipated. They were all very attentive and courteous, even as I became a little bit combative and stubborn, and the main thing, their price could not be beat. I am glad we didn't get the BMW X3 or Audi Q5 which I had looked at with only half the features, and paying about $7,000 more. The 2019 RDX "Superman" as Walter called it (for the Apex Blue exterior and Red interior leather) is a beautiful SUV, super fast, great handling, and just a lot of fun in general. Too bad my wife will be the one driving it most of the time, and I will be relegated to the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Sterling Edition, which isn't bad at all, but ain't no RDX "Superman" Hope this is helpful to anyone wanting to buy a car. Fred devoted a lot of time to answering all of my questions. He gave me a great price and followed up with excellent customer service to make my experience so easy and enjoyable. He was also just a genuinely nice person. I could tell that he wasn't just about making a sale but truly wanted me to be happy. Hamad Matari in the finance office was also spectacular and made me laugh the entire time through an otherwise tedious process. I would highly recommend Acura DCH for your next car buying experience! Richard Morales was the only salesperson who saw my friend and I waiting without being serviced, approached us and asked if we were being helped. He was extremely polite, friendly, and most importantly honest and professional. He listened to every single one of my concerns and answered every question. Mr. Morales was always concerned if my friend and I needed a beverage. The dealership over all needs better customer service. As previously stated I waited almost 20 mins without being helped or even greeted at the door. There were no snacks or even vending machines available so that clients can purchase something to eat.
