I would probably call their way of advertising as deceptive and wondering if people in California think a dealership that does this is normal and ok. I was looking at their ad on TrueCar and was int deceptive and wondering if people in California think a dealership that does this is normal and ok. I was looking at their ad on TrueCar and was interested in an used Sienna. Clicked and put in a request for their price offer. Got the offer and proceeded to talk to the dealership. After asking a couple of questions with their sales rep Christian. Asked for an out the door price. After asking a couple of times I get an itemized OTD price. In there, besides the dealer fee and state fee (they didn’t include taxes for Illinois that I had mentioned so I assume they don’t collect on behalf of the customer). - there is an accessories fee for $1,693 for a “clear shield”, “window etching” and “security system”. In their email - they clearly mention that fee is added in for mine and “their protection”. I know from reading up on these things that they aren’t required so I email them back that I would decline that as it’s a used car and I didn’t need it. I then get a call back from the sales rep saying they refuse to sell me a car because I would not take the accessories fee. I mean I get the fees for documents, and state fees. Apparently - they charge this to all of their and if a person doesn’t take it then they can refuse to sell you the car. Asked to talk to their supervisor And I get transferred over to Richard and get the same thing. Asked to speak to their GM and was told he’s busy but they’ll get him to call me. We’ll see if they do but I’m sure they’ll tell me the same thing or they’ll tell me at this point the car is sold. I was upset because if it’s a mandatory fee that they have on their cars - then it should be disclosed on their website and also to TrueCar. I reached out to TrueCar and reported it as well because I didn’t get price I expected to pay outside of taxes, state and fee. I’m a bit surprised that no one has reported them to their attorney general for this practice. As a buyer - run away from this dealership and for anyone in California that actually buys from the dealership and pays their accessories fee - because it’s “mandatory” - yikes! More

Great experience at the service center. My experience at the service department at Toyota of Oxnard was excellent. Steven Fields was my service representative. He was professional, friendly, and provided fast service. I was impressed that I was not provided with a laundry list of things that needed to be fixed on top of the service that I came for. I recently purchased a used car from DCH Toyota of Oxnard. Before arriving at the dealership, I got prequalified for an auto loan through a separate financial institution. I repeatedly told my car salesman, Chris, as well as sales team leaders, Giancarlo and Richard, that I was already prequalified, and I did not want to finance through Toyota. After agreeing upon the price of the vehicle, Chris mentioned that the dealership needed to perform a “soft credit inquiry.” I asked him why this needed to be done since I was prequalified, but he assured me this would only be done by the dealership and that this would not hurt my credit score. I then sat down with Johnny Flores to finalize the purchase. Johnny repeatedly tried selling add-ons such as additional warranties and oil changes, which I declined every time. Johnny, like all the other associates that I spoke with, was well aware of my intentions to finance with a separate financial institution. Just a week after visiting the dealership, I received letters from two separate financial institutions saying that they reviewed my credit on behalf of DCH Toyota of Oxnard and that my application was denied. The team clearly lied when they said that they were only going to perform a soft credit inquiry, and as a result my credit score has taken a hit. Unfortunately, this was not the worst of their actions. I could not have been more clear when I told every team member that I was prequalified for a loan and that I did not want to finance through Toyota, yet two weeks later I received a bill from Toyota Financial Services for the first payment of my auto loan. DCH Toyota blatantly disregarded my desires in order to pursue their own self-interests. Adding insult to injury, I emailed the general manager about my experience and didn’t even receive a response. Need any more reason to believe that this dealership is a scam? I found a 5 star google review for the dealership that was written by THEIR OWN General Sales Manager, Drew Holbrook. The owner then responded as if it were a legitimate review. DCH Toyota of Oxnard is deceiving and dishonest. Don’t trust anything they say. More

It is easier for me to explain myself to Jasmin Lawson at Oxnard Toyota, she is very understanding and excels in customer service with a personal approach. I did not have a very good experience when I first bought my car there, but the manager made sure that my next visit I would be assisted by their very best. Jasmin is a pleasure to work with and I feel extremely comfortable talking to her and I feel she excels in the way she deals with customers. More
