After being approved, I asked the interest rate and Fred (finances) told me that the interest rate didn't matter since the amount (around $10000) was insignificant. So I asked what the monthly payments would be around. "Worst case scenario, $280" Having done the math at home, this was about an 18% interest rate, which is outrageous. Turns out bank would only loan $8,300 for the car so the rest was made up with a "extended warranty" that cost $3000, bringing the new total closer to $12,000. A non-optional warranty (on an already certified pre-owned vehicle). More
