We had an EXCEPTIONAL experience with Darrell Waltrip Subaru when helping our daughter buy and finance her first car. We were initially referred to Subaru salesperson Robert Moore by someone who'd had a Subaru when helping our daughter buy and finance her first car. We were initially referred to Subaru salesperson Robert Moore by someone who'd had a great car-buying experience with him. In fact, the recommendation was so favorable (for the brand, the dealership, and Robert specifically) that we decided to include Subaru on our short list, even though it had not previously been on our list at all. We had already walked out of two (non-Subaru) dealerships due to high-pressure sales techniques, a lack of active listening by the salesperson and sales manager, and what felt like stereotypical disingenuousness. However, meeting and interacting with Kevin Griggs and Robert Moore made us feel like we were in a place where we were seen and heard, and with people who actually cared about us - not just about the transaction. What a refreshing experience! Both Kevin and Robert went out of their way to help us find a car that met our specific needs. Their patience, attitude, and behavior also helped me, specifically, remain calm in what I typically find to be an extremely stressful situation (in addition to having PTSD). Once our daughter was settled on the car - a Subaru Crosstrek - that she was interested in purchasing, we were introduced to Finance Manager Jason Bradley, who patiently and considerately helped our daughter (and us) work through the process of securing a loan at a rate she could handle and options such as an extended warranty and the pre-purchase oil-change program that she decided to take advantage of. No doubt we took Jason through the rigors of explaining things most people never ask about (so that our daughter would know exactly what she was signing); however, he was not put off by the questions and took the time necessary to explain everything to her and us. While we were at the dealership, we also had the privilege of meeting the GM, Jimmy Harris. Talking with Jimmy helped us to understand why the dealership has such a positive and friendly atmosphere and exceptional staff. All to say, we will be back when we are ready to make our next purchase. More
