In November 2022, we were charged a fee of $150 for "Hand Buff Synthetic Sealant," which we were not aware of, nor did we ask for it. The Dealership stated they had changed the name of it to avoid confusion to " Dealership prep fee". However, they did send me a paper stating what the fee is for. I just wish we had been told years ago about it, as we were all thinking we paid for something and didn't get it. More

This was my second vehicle purchase from Dave Smith Motors; Tanner was my salesman. He was awesome to work with; there were no surprises or hiccups. I went online and selected my accessories ahead of time, so when I arrived, they were already on the vehicle. I sent pictures of my trade-in ahead of time so when I arrived with my title in hand the transaction went very smooth. I was in and out of their office in just over an hour, not bad considering I drove in from out of state. Tanner was great, he made this process so easy and painless, thank you!! More

I went to this dealership to buy my new pickup. Mainly because of all the advertisements. I was given a price that I thought was reasonable and agreed to purchase over the phone. The finance manager contacted me multiple times wanting to sell me extended coverage. I finally did decide to purchase. It's a very hurried up process when you go to pick up your vehicle. They insist everything is signed for on docu sign. Which is fine but most people, myself included, do this on their phones and don't bother to enlarge the paper work and actually read it. BIG MISTAKE. And I'm sure that is why it's done that way. I was quoted and charged more for the extended warranty than it actually was. I insisted on paying up front for the warranty, and not having it on my financing. They took the money, applied it as if it were part of the down payment and added the warranty to my financing. I never received a contract for the warranty and after several phone messages about this issue, they have still not returned my calls. They also told me that for being a first time customer, they were going to give me theft protection on my new pickup. When I finally got home and was going over the paperwork I had signed, it turns out they charged me for that theft protection! I drove home 500 miles the same day I purchased. About a week later, I washed the pickup and discovered it had a small dent in the fender. I emailed pics and description of dent and have heard nothing back. I recently purchased a truck from Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The finance process was conducted unethically. Duke, the finance manager, misrepresented his ability to secure a low interest rate even though I have an A+ credit rating and made a large down payment of over 20%. When I raised the issue with both the Director of Finance and the General Manager, the dealership failed to follow through on the promises they made to resolve the matter. To make matters worse, even after 30 days of receiving the truck, I still have not received copies of the sales paperwork, financing documents, or the warranty that was guaranteed to come with the vehicle. Both the salesperson and the finance manager repeatedly boasted that they were “the best in the business” and “the best at communication,” yet it was nearly impossible to get a call back. I had to escalate to upper management & that was just as bad… When the vehicle finally arrived, it was also missing items that had been promised and supposedly “double-checked” before the sale was finalized. This shows a serious lack of honesty and accountability. Buyer beware—whatever good reputation this dealership once had is no longer the case. You’ll likely find a better deal and more transparent process at your local dealership, without the added cost and hassle of traveling to Kellogg. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the Idaho Transportation Department regarding these practices. More

ROMAN IS THE BEST RAM SALESMAN! If you’re looking for a new Ram, Roman is your guy. He was the first salesman we have ever had who had a personality while doing business. When he had to get paperwork signed, this man RAN AROUND! He made it happen! If he is eligible for a raise or a bonus he truly deserves it. His attention to detail was great. The online pricing he was very up front about any additional amount for registration. This man can even pair a flip phone to a vehicle via Bluetooth! The finance guy really knew his stuff. He sat there an answered all questions. The general manager and Romans boss stopped by and chatted for a while about places to eat near Kellog. They were both above and beyond kind. We are highly impressed and would like to come back the next time we need to upgrade! PLEASE ASK FOR ROMAN ON YOUR NEXT VISIT! We don’t get those two items as well , after I mentioned all of this to Nathan all he said sorry there’s nothing I could do about it now , as a well reputable business (Dave Smith) I was shocked at the way they went about handling the whole process , will never consider Dave Smith again for our future vehicle purchases More

I didn't test drive the vehicle before purchasing it, unfortunately. However, as soon as I drove the truck home, I noticed it was pulling to the passenger side. I immediately contacted the sales rep, who told me I could take it to any dealer. Despite my request to bring it back to him, he never responded. I took the truck to Lithia, where they said they performed an alignment and told me it was good to go. When I picked it up, the issue persisted. I called on my way home, and Justin, the service advisor, mentioned they had been having problems with the alignment rack and were expecting a technician to fix it the following week. Not wanting to wait, I took the truck to a reputable alignment shop. They inspected it and said it was fine. I returned to Lithia and explained that the alignment rack likely wasn't the issue and that something more serious was wrong. They inspected the truck and concluded that the axle welds were off, so they ordered a new axle. After several weeks of waiting and follow-ups, they installed the new axle, but the truck still pulled to the passenger side. They then replaced the steering gearbox, but the issue persisted. They mentioned having an "old timer" look at the alignment, but even after that, the problem remained. They decided to bring in a specialist from Billings, which took several months. After the specialist aligned the truck to 2025 specs, it still pulled to the passenger side. I asked to see the specs but have received no documentation and continue to be given the runaround. Since then, I've test-driven other new trucks, which don't have this issue, and my 2018 model doesn't either Went through arbitration and they stated the Truck hasn't seen the dealer enough times despite sitting to in parking lot 83 days to get fixed. I reached out to Dave Smith a bunch and never got a response after purchased. Us Customer care did nothing More
