Cheated and Disrespected Worst used car buying experience of a lifetime. We searched online for some time for a safe used vehicle for our newly licensed 16 year old son with t Worst used car buying experience of a lifetime. We searched online for some time for a safe used vehicle for our newly licensed 16 year old son with the right mileage and at the right price. We found a 2015 Sonata SE with just under 22,000 at Daytona Hyundai. We negotiated by email and by phone with Bill Lupoli and, after getting all the information requested (not without some reluctance on the part of the dealership) and having my questions answered, we made an offer which was accepted in writing by email from Bill Lupoli. I spoke personally with Bill to make arrangements. I also spoke with the Internet Director, Melissa Costner, Friday afternoon (2-16-18) telling her we would be at the dealership Saturday morning (2-17-18) and she even made sure I had directions to the dealership that would avoid the race day traffic at Daytona Speedway and informed me she would tell Bill Lupoli that we would be there Saturday morning. We left our home around 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning and had already driven nearly 40 miles, being 5 minutes away from the dealership, when I received a call on my cell from Bill Lupoli telling me the dealership sold the vehicle the night before (on 2-16-18). We continued on to the dealership to get some answers in person as to what had occurred. I was noticeably upset. The sales manager on duty was Miguel Segura. Not only was Miguel unapologetic, he was unprofessional, explaining to us that we should not be upset since it is just a car and that this situation didn’t rise to the level of the Parkland shootings at MSD high school (which was completely out of context and even further upsetting to my family, especially my high school age son). Miguel needs to be retrained in customer service. I would never have someone like Miguel working at a business I owned. Not only did we now feel cheated out of a car, we felt completed disrespected. When we returned home I wrote several other reviews online about Daytona Hyundai and our experience. My wife posted the whole thing on Facebook (FB) and gave the dealership a poor rating on FB, which led to a FB message reply from Charlie McHale, the General Sales Manager, inquiring what had happened. Once explained to him through FB, he was stunned and apologetic. He had been out of town for training that entire week (which is a very good and much needed thing for this dealership in my opinion), but said he would look into the matter. He said he would do what he could to assist us if we located another vehicle, even if it was at another dealership. We did happen to locate on 2-18-18 another similar Sonata SE just north of Tampa in New Port Richey, but to date (2-26-28) Charlie McHale has only exchanged text messages with the General Sales Manager at that dealership. I purposely waited to post this review to give Charlie McHale an opportunity to make things right. He seemed sincerely in his FB message exchange with my wife (I never spoke with him directly), but we have yet to see any results. The last communication from Charlie McHale was simply directing us back to the used car inventory at Daytona Hyundai, which didn't really help us any. More

Iggy is very knowledgeable and was very helpful . I am 81 years old and have purchased many vehicles and by far this was the most pleasurable and enjoyable buying experience I have ever had.
