But after a few minutes, I knew I wasn’t talking to just anyone – I was actually talking to THE VW MAN. He’s definitely that and then some. And there’s a reason why he is called that. He’s very passionate about helping his customers, what he does, and the VW brand in general. A wealth of information and a true professional. He wasn’t pushy – but honest. I knew I had to make a quick decision about this car. Thankfully I did. If it wasn’t for John Parkinson, I wouldn’t have this car. The next day the car had four deposits on it. I felt like a won the lotto tbh. I’ve always wanted a Golf GTI since my early 20’s. So, to get a Golf R in my late 40’s – I’m stoked– call it my midlife purchase. Back to John Parkinson. John sat and talked with us for over an hour about what our options would be if we waited a few more months. We ended up walking out several hours later with a new Passat. This is the 4th VW we have purchased from John and Demontrond VW including 1 that my parents bought from John as well. John is very understanding and helpful he does not just “push” for a sale. There is something special to be said about a person who will work for 8 months to sell one car. John is not only a true professional, but equally important, John is a true car enthusiast. This last point is important, as it helps highlight the kind of worker John is. Having a true passion for cars perfectly translates to selling them, and John does both very well. Furthermore, as a dealership, having employees like John helps showcase the kind of atmosphere the company brings to the table.
