Diagnosis Fees Hello, Have brought my wife's car here several times (2011 Nissan Rogue) service has always been appreciated. This most recent service appointment Hello, Have brought my wife's car here several times (2011 Nissan Rogue) service has always been appreciated. This most recent service appointment, the cost seemed elevated. I came in to have a tire patched (small nail in tire, I could not find a patch kit small enough, hate fix a flat), one of the heat shields fell off, and there is a noise from the front passenger side engine area. I told the service tech the heat shield needs to be bolted back on, or replaced, and I believe there may be an issue with the strut bearing on passenger side. In the end, the tire was patched, the heat shield bolted back on... a few dollars in parts, an hour labor, but the bill was $380. I asked why so high, it was because each item (except the tire patch) had its own $125 diagnosis fee attached to it. I questioned why a diagnosis fee for the heat shield, when I explained what needed to be done to it... it was to verify... Other places I have gone to charge one diagnosis fee for all issues to be explored (DePaula or Cooley's for my Mazda), and that is generally applied to the cost to repair, and I believe has been practice in past at Destination. In 2018 we had a new transmission installed by Destination ($7,000), yet all subsequent visits I have been pushed to change the transmission fluid because it tested bad... Where is it sampled from, what diagnostic tests are completed, and can I view the results? Please note Eric was very polite throughout the exchange. Respectfully, Dan More
LOVE the service! Hate the wait time to get an appointment. The last three times I called, there was a lengthy wait for an appointment.
