I had the worst experience at Devan Acura that I've ever had in my life regarding purchasing a car. Dan LaRusso is the nastiest most unprofessional sales rep I have ever met. My mother had a very poor exp had in my life regarding purchasing a car. Dan LaRusso is the nastiest most unprofessional sales rep I have ever met. My mother had a very poor experience with Devan a few years back ironically trying to purchase a TL and went to Curry instead. However, because I'm from Norwalk so after calling around to multiple dealerships and comparing prices I decided to go to Devan first because they are my home dealership. I was looking for a black 2012 TL and there were very few left as the 2013s were already out. Dan did not have any on the floor (which I knew before I came in) but still went in and allowed him to search for me. After spending about an hour there, he told me he would call me on Monday if he found one (which seemed very bleak after he already called multiple dealerships). I drove away and immediately went to Westchester who offered me a great deal and had the car on the floor (which I knew from the beginning). I called Dan before the weekend was out and let him know that I went w/ Westchester b/c they had the car and I didn't want them to sell it. I was bombarded with nasty, rude emails that could've come from no one else but a child. I was told not to bring my car to Devan for service and spoken down to in the most disrespectful manner. I spent half a day going back and forth in email with Dan and was surprised that he was so angry about losing one deal! It occurred to me that sales must not be that great with a terrible attitude like that, so to lose one deal must be a big deal. I would NEVER recommend this dealership to ANYONE...stay FAR FAR away! I recommend Westchester a million times over Devan, I can't even believe they are still open. I should've listened to my mother and avoided Devan like the plague. Please take your business elsewhere. Brought my car in for a FREE oil change which ends up costing me what they estimate as $499.00. They did the oil change and As I found out the next day jammed the hood of the car where OT would no longe costing me what they estimate as $499.00. They did the oil change and As I found out the next day jammed the hood of the car where OT would no longer open. Brought the car back and Clyde the service rep said it was fixed It just needed to be cleaned. Only problem I now found after bringing the car home, once I locked it with the remote, the beep and light flash which usually Signals the car is locked, now doesn't work. Brought the car back during the weekend requested loaner car which they said on the phone was no problem, now said they would only supply one if it took over and hour. I had told them prior that I had to go to work. Cindy the service rep. Now got one of their employees to drive me the 20 minutes to work. So far so good. Now I get a call from Cindy telling me that the car hood springs need to be replaced and the cable. COST $499.00 She now tells me that I must have had and accident which bent the latch and that's why it was jammed. Maybe she should have spoken to Clyde who just the previous week told me it was fine just dirty and that they had cleaned it and now everything is fine He also never mentioned having any further trouble opening the hood. But now as she tells me it needs new springs and cable. Let alone prior to getting the oil change, the hood opened just fine, no problem. Now if it isn't fixed,it takes 2 people to ops the hood. I spoke to Amy the service manager since Cindy said that it was just a coincidence that the hood had failed now when they worked on it. She kept on referring to the age of the car.Again ,never mind that the hood worked fine before they worked on it. Curious also how the latch got bent, since I have never had an accident with this car. They take no responsibility just keep on harping on the age of the car. The car is a 2001, does the latch bend spontaneously after a certain age????? Ha I certainly doubt that.worked just fine prior to the oil change. The only positive thing I can report is about their employee that drove me to work, Burt,he was one of the most up beat and pleasant person I have met in a long time. I am in the market for a new car but mow would never considering buying from Devan Acura and don't think I will now buy another Acura, Only takes one bad experience to sour you on a brand. More

Devan Acura sent me a coupon for a free oil change. I brought my car in on Friday, August 27th. On Monday, August 30th I drove 10 miles to work and when I arrived at my parking garage the oil light flash brought my car in on Friday, August 27th. On Monday, August 30th I drove 10 miles to work and when I arrived at my parking garage the oil light flashed, then stayed lit. I called Devan to tell them and they sent a rep to my work. He looked at the car and the entire bottom of the car was covered in oil. The oil filter fell out, a seal had broken, and the car motor was empty of oil. Devan towed the car to their shop. The service manager Aimy called us and told us they would not work on the car because the reason this happened is because of the age of the car. My car is a 2002 Honda Accord and I've had it since new. I have NEVER had a problem with this car, it runs like a dream. My husband has been a mechanic all his life and takes excellent (maintenance) care of my car and I have my oil changes every 3 to 4,000 miles. Devan Acura was upset because "I had not been to their dealership in 4 years" (this makes no sense at all and has no relevance to the problem but they did say this). They refuse to service the car, they requested we get the car off their lot and they will not compromise with helping us fix it. I had to tow it to the Honda Dealership where I originally bought the car. And I have to pay over $1,000 to fix it. Devan Acura wants nothing to do with us. Obviously they sent me the coupon to lure me back to their business. I used to go there because they had a special deal with oil changes, and I took advantage of that special for 3 years! I went to see a used Acura RL with my family. I was approached by Fumi Muto. He seemed too brief and apathetic when talking to us. He took us towards the vehicle and opened up the doors. We had a lo approached by Fumi Muto. He seemed too brief and apathetic when talking to us. He took us towards the vehicle and opened up the doors. We had a look. I then came back and asked Fumi if he could accompany us for a test drive. Because it is a used vehicle with 62k+ miles on it already, we were just concerned and thought it would be prudent to have someone from the dealership present inside the vehicle. Fumi first said "I cannot go outside the dealership on Saturdays". So told Fumi that maybe we should come back on a day when he could actually accompany us on the test drive. Fumi's reaction - "We do not accompany our customers on test drives". Then he simply gave us our card and said his goodbyes and went back to whatever the heck he was doing. Fumi seemed to be the LEAST interested and the LEAST courteous car-salesman I have EVER encountered. He showed ZERO CONCERN OR RESPECT for our needs, and had ZERO desire to earn our business. I am disappointed, and am NEVER EVER going back to Devon's Acura of Norwalk, CT. More
I took my car for a recall on the airbag. The service advisor told me the car needed a ingitior and a bulb for driver side at 1280. The night before light was working fine. I just attempted to make an appointment to have my oil changed. The whole process / phone conversation was absurd. From asking for my vin and not being able to make an appointment without it (who carries changed. The whole process / phone conversation was absurd. From asking for my vin and not being able to make an appointment without it (who carries their vin # around with them) to not booking appointments for oil changes after 2pm on Fridays when the service department hours listed on the website state that service is open until 5pm. I could see if the later appointments were already booked but I was specifically told we don't schedule oil changes after 2pm. Needless to say I ended up not booking an appointment because it just wasn't worth the hasstle. I would never buy anything from this dealer, recommend anyone to this dealer, or try to have my car serviced at Devan Acura of Norwalk. More
I have an MDX that is coming off lease this month. I called Devan Acura and wanted to schedule a date to drop off the vehicle. I was told that since I did not buy the car there that they couldn't accep called Devan Acura and wanted to schedule a date to drop off the vehicle. I was told that since I did not buy the car there that they couldn't accept the vehicle. Rick was quite unfriendly through this conversation, but did tell me he would talk to his manager. About 30 min later I received a call from a Rick. He asked me "what can I do for you SIR?!" Totally with an obnoxious tone. I asked if this was the same Rick I just talked to and he nastily notified me that there are 2 Ricks there. He asked why I couldn't take the car back to where I purchased it originally and I told him the dealer was more than an hour away from me. He said that I couldn't be bothered with bringing it back there but wanted to use Devan because it was convenient. I told him that I tried to lease through them but they were not competitive enough. He was quite belligerent with me. I finally hung up. Don't use this dealer. DCH Heart Acura in Poughkeepsie NY is a much better choice. Friendly staff and great prices. Make the trip! More
