My service manager was Devin. I brought in a 2016 Kia Forte that had a strong vibration in the steering wheel and even in the front bucket seats while at a stop, car in gear (D) a I brought in a 2016 Kia Forte that had a strong vibration in the steering wheel and even in the front bucket seats while at a stop, car in gear (D) and foot on brake. After a week I was told that it probably was a brake issue perhaps a warped rotor?? Obviously this was not the issue as the car was at a complete stop and just idling. Another week in the service department and it was diagnosed that a faulty alternator or A/C compressor was causing the vibration and an estimate of repair costs around $2000.00. At this time having no confidence in the service dept I returned it to the dealership in Salem OR where I had purchased it a couple months before. Within a couple days they had determined the source of the vibration. They knew it was not the alternator or A/C compressor because they had earlier pulled the belt powering these and confirmed the vibration was still there. They looked at engine and transmission mounts and found a broken transmission mount - replaced it an vibration was gone. Thanks to them I didn't spend $2000+ on replacement of alternator and A/C recommended by Dick Hannah Kia. More
