I ended up purchasing a new Kia because of the warranty and the fact that it was only a couple of thousand more than a used vehicle. The salesman, David Hoyt, was AWESOME. However, there was a Kia rep there, named Johnny, whom I did not care for at all. Very strong arm tactics. I don't take too well to salesmen telling me I 'deserve' to treat myself to a new car. What a load. They don't know me from adam...how do they know I DESERVE this purchase? I'm not flattered by this type of tactic and resent it greatly!!! His techniques were 1 black mark on the purchase and had me inches from walking away. The other problem I had was there were several scratches on the car that, after I made the purchase, they tried to buff out and could not get them all. sad. since i now owned the car, that was my problem and it should not have been. Overall...the experience was good...but could have been better. More

So much dishonesty, I don't even know where to start After my experience at this dealership, I now wonder what bar Dealer Rater sets to award dealerships their 'dealer of the year' awards. On 4/24, I After my experience at this dealership, I now wonder what bar Dealer Rater sets to award dealerships their 'dealer of the year' awards. On 4/24, I reached out to Dick Hannah Kia to inquire about a Kia Niro that they had in stock. It was the only one in WA that was white and had the tech package that I was looking for. I reached out and heard from Ray, who has been very honest and up front in all of our conversations. He explained his pricing in detail, and even helped me call out bogus line items in the quotes that I got from other dealerships. I filled out a credit app online and was approved with tier 1. We continued some back and forth and I had follow up questions because some of the math that he sent over did not make sense. He forwarded my concerns to Jon, the sales maanger who confirmed via email that their previous math was indeed wrong. This is when I started becoming skeptical, but ultimately brushed it off because Ray has earned my trust. Despite the long drive from the Seattle area, I packed up the family and headed down two days later. Unfortunately (for me), Ray was off on the day I came down. Instead, I was assigned a different sales rep when I arrived. When we were on the showroom, the 'touring' trim peaked our interest. We asked Jon and Lucas to provide me with option A (which is the original car I inquired about ) and option B (which was the vehicle in the showroom. This is where the experience turned for the worse. To me, it felt like the shark smelled the blood in the water and I was doomed. First, Lucas asked me to fill out a hard copy of their credit application. I asked Lucas why this was necessary, since I already got approved online and I know for a fact there was already a hard pull on my credit since my credit monitoring service has told me so. He assured me that the credit would not be pulled again, and that it was more for formality. I obliged. Sure enough, the next day, there was another hard pull from both Kia Motors and Dick Hannah (on 4/24 and 4/26) After some back and forth, we agreed on a price and monthly payment. This is where more dishonesty took place. After running the numbers through F&I, the monthly payment was $4-5 higher. While this only equates to ~$100 or so for the life of the lease, I still believe the dealership should have fixed this and made right by me. I've run across this scenario in another car purchase and the dealership always adjusted what they needed to make me happy. We agreed to a deal in principle, yet it was not honored. The excuse I got was that since they dont have certain RTA taxes in Clark county, this is not something that they normally run into. Well, to me, if you truly are the 'dealer of the year', your "professionals" should know this. It is not the customer's job to know what taxes are applicable. At this point, my wife and kids were tired and hungry, so I didn't put up much of a fight and signed the paper work. Finally, and what peeved me the most, when we took delivery of the vehicle (after signing the paperwork), we get in the car and notice that the floor mats were not in the car. When I asked Lucas about this, he said they needed to take it out and it was not included. I was very disappointed. The vehicle you showed me in the showroom had these items included. Again, given that my family was tired, hungry, and just wanted to get out of there, I just let it be. Ultimately, I felt very taken advantage of. They took advantage of my desire to get the higher trim vehicle, they took advantage that I was not local and they took advantage of the fact that my kids were restless and wanted to get out of there. It's a shame that it had to be this way. More
Mostly good experience I got, according to TrueCar's data, a very good deal. The sales people were very easy to work with, likewise F&I. No runaround, a very straightforward I got, according to TrueCar's data, a very good deal. The sales people were very easy to work with, likewise F&I. No runaround, a very straightforward process. There was, however, one little thing that prevents me from giving them an unequivocal recommendation. Kia was running a promotion in which buyers got a $500 discount if they took out a loan from Kia Finance. I was intending to pay cash in full for my car, and told the salesman so. He suggested that I take out a loan anyway, take the discount, and then pay off the the loan in full six months later. I asked if I would be required to keep the loan for six months in order to get the discount. He hesitated a moment and said, "Yes." Well, it turned out that there was no requirement to keep the loan for six months. In fact, I paid mine in full as soon as I got the packet in the mail. My sense is that the salesman was well aware of the terms of the loan but lied to me because he was instructed to do so by management. Management, in turn, was probably responding to the terms of their arrangement with Kia Finance: Hannah probably loses some money if the loans they write get paid off too quickly. My salesman was a decent sort in general, and the look on his face when he lied suggested that he didn't feel good about it. I don't really blame him; unfortunately,it's the nature of the business. In conclusion, you can probably get a fair deal at Hannah Kia, and the people are friendly and courteous. Just don't forget that, although the car business is much cleaner than it was 20 years ago, you still have to do a lot of research and be very mindful of all the details before you sign the documents.
