Warning! Warning! Warning! I am a 4 time Subaru Legacy owner and this will be my last time! Here’s my story. I went to Dick Hanna Vancouver dealership, because that is where I I am a 4 time Subaru Legacy owner and this will be my last time! Here’s my story. I went to Dick Hanna Vancouver dealership, because that is where I bought my last Subaru 4 years ago and had a very positive experience. When we got there the people I had previously worked with were no longer there but the sales man that approached us seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. They only had the limited model which is their best model to test drive but the salesman assured me the performance was exactly the same, the difference was leather seats, audio, and other cosmetic upgrades. I specifically asked about tire size and suspension and he said all models were the same. I was content with the way the car drove (the limited model) so we proceeded to make a deal on the premium model cause I do not like leather and did not want to pay for the other cosmetic upgrades. After 5 hours of unnecessary and aggressive negotiations, with me almost leaving at one point we finally made a deal. The next day my wife went to pick up our new car. It had 351 miles on it when she got it. When I got home from work I drove it and immediately noticed that this wasn’t the same handling car I test drove. The car had a lot of annoying road noise, and was rough and jerky. I called the sales person to express my concerns and he looked up the specs of the car. Sure enough it had smaller tires and had a significant downgrade in suspension. He said he wasn’t aware of this, acknowledged that I did ask that question before the purchase, that it was his error but he did not intentionally mislead me. I made the number 1 mistake in buying a new car, never trust a car salesman he will either lie to you or he just doesn’t know what he is talking about! Bottom line is I now own a car I cannot stand to drive. 2015 Subaru has taken large strides backwards in performance. The only thing Dick Hannah dealership offered me was to take a hit on the car and pay the sticker upgrade to the limited model. Did I admit I was misled but would not share in any financial loss? Then to top it off they forwarded the wrong address to the finance company. Now I owe a late fee on the first payment. Their response to this was that it was Murphy’s Law and that anything that could go wrong probably would. This is probably the only true statement that they had said. Buy a Subaru from Dick Hannah Subaru in Vancouver and anything that could go wrong will. You Have Been Warned! More
