We went into Dick Hannah sure we wanted to buy a new Subaru, so we made their job easy. I was surfing the websites of several other dealers in the Portland area in addition to Dick Hannah. This was the first dealership we visited and bought our new Forester a few hours later. We were so happy with the service experience that we never looked any further. The internet sales department responded quickly, our salesman Sam Gibbs was super friendly and knowledgeable and the finance guy Omar made it easy and we got a great rate on Subabru financing. If customer service in the future is as good as the great sales experience we had then we will surely be buying another new car from Dick Hannah in the future. Better than most car buying experiences we have had in the past. They treated us like VIPs. More
I should start off by saying we were not in the market for a new car, but our car had been totaled by a drunk driver and it was necessary that we replace it. We'd been admiring the redesigned Outbacks and decided to start there. The day before we went to Dick Hannah Subaru, we had looked at Outbacks at a different dealer, but felt that they had neither the inventory, the ability to quickly get inventory they lacked, nor the actual knowledge or interest in explaining the features of the Outback to us, deciding instead on going for folksy camaraderie, and losing interest when we discussed features we'd like to get ordered in, apparently because they're a high enough volume dealership to be able to discourage prospective customers. We had a very different experience with Joel at Dick Hannah Subaru. While Joel was personable, he wasn't schmoozy. Instead, he was all about answering the questions we had, going into quite a bit more detail than any of the previous salespeople we had spoken to, and even more than what we had been able to find on Subaru's website. In addition to telling us about them, he allowed us both to really test out each of the features we had discussed (and showed us some we hadn't) on our test drive.. He excitedly showed off the backup camera, standing behind the car and inviting us to back up to him in order to demonstrate its accuracy. It might even be said that Joel was a bit of a Subaru geek. And anyone who's a geek about any subject, knows that's not a bad thing. Joel offered flexible terms, and was willing to negotiate respectfully with us, down to a very reasonable deal. Once the negotiation was done, Joel walked us through getting started personalizing the car's features before we drove away. And we drove away happy, which is much more than we had expected that day. Dick Hannah had a very large selection to choose from. Had the typical back and forth to get the right price which I wish could be avoided but I ended up getting a good deal. He showed me one of the models and explained all the features from top to bottom and inside out. He is a very knowledgeable sales person. I was thoroughly impressed. We sat down discussed the price, there was no major haggling going on, he was courteous, it was a real pleasure doing business with him. I would recommend the dealership to any of my friends. More
As I drove up to the dealership, I was met by Ed (Edwin Perez) and explained to him that I'm here for an appointment to view 2013 Forester (I have already decided that I was planning to buy from another de Perez) and explained to him that I'm here for an appointment to view 2013 Forester (I have already decided that I was planning to buy from another dealer) with Tyler. Tyler wasn't there Ed was designated as the person who will show me the vehicle. One of the first things Ed did before our test driving, after a vehicle is pulled out from a lot, popped the hood and went over pretty much everything you might need to know (i.e. engine, oil type, oil filter, windshield wiper and brake fluids, etc). I appreciate that since as a woman; having to know what's under a vehicle hood is important, if/when engine or any other lights go on in the future, at least know that you have check engine oil, fluids, etc. He also answered all the questions I have about the vehicle. Also, I like to think that Ed is honest, no pressure and there is NO bull about pricing (able to honor the price that was quoted to me). Therefore, I decided to buy 2013 Forester from Ed instead of another deal in Portland. I hope that new/used buyers will get an opportunity of Ed as your product sale person. More
