I spoke with Kane K in the used car sales department about purchasing a vehicle from out of state. He confirmed that was possible, and we began discussing the vehicle, including the warranty, shipping, about purchasing a vehicle from out of state. I appreciated his honesty when he advised me that I would likely receive a better value by selling my vehicle to CarMax or Carvana rather than trading it in with the dealership. However, the conversation took a disappointing turn when we discussed pricing. I explained the out-the-door price I was trying to reach based on the monthly payment I was targeting. Rather than exploring options or asking questions about my budget, Kane told me that I was “what’s wrong with the used car market” and said we were about $3,000 apart. That comment effectively ended the conversation. Ironically, after doing more research on my own, I realized that the additional $3,000 actually could have fit within my budget through different financing or payment options. Had Kane taken the time to educate me or work through those possibilities instead of making a dismissive comment, there’s a good chance we could have reached a deal. This experience left me disappointed because it felt like I was judged rather than helped. I’ve had excellent experiences with other CDJR dealerships, including purchasing my truck from the Dundee location (and had it shipped out of state), where the customer service was professional, respectful, and focused on finding a solution.
