!!BEWARE Active Military and Veterans!! If I could give zero stars I would!!!! On July 30, 2026, I went to Dick Poe Dodge Ram in El Paso, Texas, to purchase a 2026 Ram 1500 Tradesman 4x4. I specifi give zero stars I would!!!! On July 30, 2026, I went to Dick Poe Dodge Ram in El Paso, Texas, to purchase a 2026 Ram 1500 Tradesman 4x4. I specifically chose the white truck, but I could not test drive it because the battery was dead. Instead, I test drove an identical black truck. I requested that the white truck’s battery be replaced. My salesperson told me the truck had only been sitting for approximately 16 days and probably just needed a jump-start. I explained that my research showed it had actually been on the lot for approximately 64 days and requested a new battery for peace of mind. He agreed. I went to my bank, obtained my pre-approval check, and returned around 5:00 p.m. At approximately 7:10 p.m., my salesperson called and asked if I would take the black truck instead. I declined because I specifically wanted the white truck. He then informed me the white truck had serious problems: it would not stay running, would not hold a charge, and had more than 40 diagnostic trouble codes showing on their scanner. They offered the black truck at the same price. I said the only way I would consider it was at a lower price. I was told, “No, the dealership is not going to do that.” I was told they would continue trying to repair the white truck. The next morning, July 31, I was informed they still could not fix it and the deal would be canceled. When I asked for my pre-approval check back, I was shocked to learn they had already deposited it. My bank informed me that because the check had already been negotiated, they could not simply stop payment or cancel the transaction. The dealership would have to refund me directly or pay the loan off through the bank. The dealership told me they would simply write me a check for the purchase amount. When I raised the issue of interest already accruing on the loan, I was told they could “just call the bank and tell them not to charge interest.” My bank confirmed that is not how the loan works. Interest begins accruing from day one, and the dealership should obtain a payoff amount, including accrued interest, before issuing payment. I explained this to the finance manager while my bank was involved in the conversation. He told me I was “making a bigger deal out of this than it is.” From my perspective, this is a BIG deal. This involves my money, credit, and financial future. Because the deal fell apart after my financing had already been processed, I now have another hard inquiry on my credit report and may have to finance another vehicle at a higher interest rate. When I asked if the dealership would cover that difference, the answer was no. I was then told by the finance manager, “I’ll pray for you.” There was also an issue involving the military/veteran incentives. I was initially told I could not combine the $500 Military Retiree/100% Disabled Veteran incentive with Ram’s national 12% off MSRP promotion. I contacted Ram directly and was told these incentives could be combined. The dealership later acknowledged that was correct. While my bank was working through the situation, they requested that I obtain the Check 21, which is the legal copy of the front and back of the check from the financial institution that processed it. As of August 7, 2026, the dealership has still not produced the Check 21 requested by my bank. If you are Active Military or a veteran considering purchasing a vehicle from Dick Poe Dodge Ram in El Paso, Texas, my personal recommendation based on my own experience is: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. Update: As of 14Sep26 Dick Poe Dodge Ram has refused to provide the Check 21 despite repeated request for it. More

Took my minivan in two years ago, yeah two years ago. It was under warranty (lifetime). Dick Poe dodge said that I needed a new engine. At the time it had 148,000 miles on it. They said they did a compression check and I had 3 bad cylinders. We went back and forth for a year and half. They refused to fix or replace the engine unless I canceled the remaining warranty. After having my minivan for a year and a half, I had to have it towed. I got a second opinion from another shop. Turns out there never was an engine problem, it was all electrical. Now they refuse to pay for the repairs after offering $9100 to replace the engine that didn't need to be replaced after all, even though all the repairs came to a lot less than $9100. Stay away from Dick Poe Dodge. They lied to me. I will never by another Dodge again. Buyer beware. Don't trust them or their warranties. More
