I came in for a software update, a check engine light, and to check the brakes. I was told that my vehicle needed to have numerous repairs with a total estimate of over $10,000. However, after having another mechanic review the items on the list, most of the items were not accurate. 1) Timing Cover Reseal estimated at over $4500. The mechanics at Williams Auto, said there is no oil leak, but it was dirty, possibly from spilled oil, from a recent oil change. 2) Rear rotors do not need to be replaced. 3) Rear differential fluid does not need to be replaced. 4) Power steering fluid does not need to be replaced. 5) Brake Fluid does not need to be replaced. 6) Coolant was already recently replaced. 7) Wiper blades were recently replaced. 8) Rear wiper blade was recently replaced. I understand that a lot of these things were based on mileage and were not actually checked. However, I also read that the inspection was complimentary, but I still paid over $200 for all this inaccurate information. No one even mentioned the software update I had requested. Therefore, I believe this amount should be refunded. More
