We have been getting our vehicles at your place for a long time. I think this was the 6th or 7th. We were trading in a 2018 Sonata with under 34k on it. The first thing my wife said was she wanted a leather interior because the seats get too dirty and black exterior. We went on a test drive of what we knew was not the exact model but were told it was almost the same. We negotiated the sale of our car back to you and the price of the new one, which had to be ordered. We were not too happy with the amount we had to pay to lease the new car at all. Especially with the amount of equity we had in the 18 but we kind of chalked it up to the increased cost of everything else these days and we’re told this was the model we had to get to have leather. When the car was delivered and we were brought out to it and the first words out of my wife’s mouth were “the interior is not leather, and even worse, it is an off white”. We said this is not the model we talked about, it is at least a step or 2 down. There was absolutely no question we were disappointed and not happy with the car but were told this was the model we were talking about the whole time. I don’t see how that could be true since it didn’t have the one thing she asked for. As a matter of fact the interior color was never even discussed during the entire process. The reason we never mentioned it was because we were expecting leather not fabric. If the salesperson knew it was fabric why wouldn’t the subject of interior color be discussed? Anyway, we were told flat out that we were wrong and this was the car. I think if you look at what we traded and what we paid you will see why we thought we were, at least, getting the model with leather interior. We are too busy to argue about a car, especially after talking about it for so long so we just took it and left. There could have been no doubt that she was unhappy with the car when she drove away but I guess it was more important to make the sale than keep the customer. I was in sales and sales management my entire life and I don’t ever remember letting a customer walk away unhappy. We are much too busy and it is only a lease so we will deal with it and “just buy slipcovers” as we were recommended when we complained. However, you can be certain we will not be getting our cars there any longer. There are way too many dealers out there that will be happy to take our money and not let us leave unhappy with the way we were treated. More
