This is a long review but I detail the entire day and experience we had at this dealership so you have an honest and detailed account of my experience with this company to make an informed decision. So i experience we had at this dealership so you have an honest and detailed account of my experience with this company to make an informed decision. So if that is what you are seeking, please take time to read. This was by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. We live near Galveston but chose to drive all the way to Spring to specifically do business at this car lot because we had heard great things about them. We arrive on the lot and are greeted by Soloman, our sales representative. He showed us a few of the vehicles on the lot and we moved inside to begin the approval process. This was approximately 12:45 PM. Our credit is not in the best shape and my down payment was going to be from my Stimulus that is due to be deposited in a few days. I made sure that Mr. Solomon was aware of all this and was reassured SEVERAL times that it would not be an issue for them to set up a promise to pay using my debit card, as long as I could show them the statement from the Where’s My Payment tool on the IRS website, which I DID. Again, was reassured several times that it would not be an issue. I made sure Mr. Solomon was aware that our work schedules would not allow us an opportunity to drive all the way back up there in the middle of the week. We test drove a couple of vehicles and then decided on the one that we wanted and began the approval process. I told Mr. Solomon at that time that we had not eaten at all that day, and asked him if we could go to a nearby restaurant to grab lunch while they worked on our approval. He informed us that if we were to leave he would have to move on to another customer and would not be able to help us so it was in our best interest to wait. This was around 1:30. Mr. Solomon returned 45 min to an hour later with the first monthly payment estimate and we told him that was a little out of our budget so he went back into negotiation. As mentioned before, our credit is sub par so approval was going to take a little longer. I knew that going in, this is not the first car I have bought from a dealership. Another hour goes by and Mr. Solomon returned and said that they got us approved and we were moving on to the next phase. I again mentioned to him that we were really hungry and wanted to eat. He reassured us that we were almost done. I asked him what the estimated payment was because he did not mention it when he notified us of approval, and he looked at me and said that it was the amount we had discussed. This was around 4:15 PM. We waited another 2 and a half hours to be called to the finance office to sign paperwork and when we got back there the finance guy had a number that was a full $222.00 over what Mr. Solomon had said. At this point I became pretty upset. I was hungry, felt like I had been given the runaround ALL DAY, and was tired. It was now about 7:00 PM. The finance officer left us in the office to go speak with the manager and was able to adjust the payment to the agreed upon amount after I got up to leave. We decided to stay and move forward with the deal as I felt like they were trying to work with us. At approximately 7:45 PM we completed the paperwork and were elated to leave with our new truck and FINALLY go get some food. When we opened the door to the finance office to exit, Mr. Solomon came up to us immediately and said, “You know you cannot take the truck tonight, you will have to come back on Wednesday to pick it up.” He had the keys in his hand and the truck had been washed and pulled up to the front for us. That is about when I hit the ceiling. I had been lied to and manipulated by Mr. Solomon all day long. I was hungry, I was tired and I was now pissed! Mr. Soloman then looked at the Finance officer and said, “you didn't tell them?” He responded to Mr. Solomon and said “I have already spoken to Sunday, (who I was told was the manager on site) and worked it out.” And told Soloman to go talk to Sunday. So we were waiting again. About 20 min later, they came back and said that all though they HAD my debit card and bank information on file that they could not release the vehicle until the payment went through. They even told me that if I had a paper check that I could leave with them instead and that would work. That made absolutely no sense to me at all as I have set up post dated payments using my debit card SEVERAL times. I also would like to reiterate that at 1:00 PM, this specific issues was brought up to Mr. Solomon and I was reassured that they would be able to work it out and it would be fine. If he had just been upfront from the beginning we could have just left at that time and came back when we had the money in hand and was able to organize our schedules to take care of it. We could have enjoyed the rest of the beautiful Saturday. I am a Teacher so I work long hours and my Husband drives for a company that transports workers from the port so he is on call 24/7. We are hardly ever off at the same time. So this was a rare occurrence for us to have a Saturday off together and to add salt to the wound, it was our 10 year wedding anniversary weekend. Our entire day was spent sitting at a car lot hungry. We did not leave the lot until 8:30, were about an hour and a half away from home and all the restaurants were now closed. Our anniversary dinner was Drive thru Sonic. :( I am a reasonable person, and I will say that the other employees at the lot were trying to rectify the situation and did offer up some solutions that I probably would have considered had I not been treated the way that I had by Mr. Solomon. I feel like he manipulated us by dodging questions and telling us what we wanted to hear to keep us at the dealership to make his sale. Had he been upfront with us from the very beginning we would be purchasing a new truck. But because of his dishonesty and abuse of our time, we have decided to take our business elsewhere. If you do decide to buy a car from Don McGill Toyota of Katy, my advice is to not do business with Soloman. **This review will be sent to the General Manager and Mr. Don Mcgill himself. More

My wife and I went into the store to replace one of our older vehicles that was acting up. Solomon Addai, was very helpful in finding for us a vehicle that met our buying criteria.
