If I had to put a title of my review it would have been "STAY AWAY!!!" And to be honest I will start from the beginning, which wasn't bad at all, but unfortunately it ended up ugly. So my first contact with Don Miller Subaru West was about a year ago after my first interest in the new Impreza. I sent a request on the website and received decent price quote for what I was looking for. My first contact was with Dennis Riddle at this time. Dennis was great, very helpful, and very friendly. However I wasn't exactly ready to buy. Towards the end of the summer, when I was ready to buy, I tried to reestablish connection with Dennis over email, but unfortunately, for whatever reason, I couldn't. So I went to dealership, and here it started. Unluckily for me the dealer who I met with that day was Mark MacInnis. By that time XV Crosstrek was already out and I was highly interested in it. I did a test drive and what not, but I wanted to customize my vehicle a lot, so I decide to order in. In order to make sure I know everything I needed, I asked a few questions, some of which it took weeks to answer, and talking about questions, that every dealer should be able to answer of the top of his head. Finally we got to the price part. I received an OK price the first time, but from my observation and research it seemed like the price can go lower. So I decide to initiate a negotiation and asked for a price which was somewhat lower with the clear intentions to come somewhere in the middle of what I was offered and what I asked for. And here is when it got ugly. He replied with a rude and disrespectful email, basically meaning that is the price, like it or not, either take it or leave it. That was the point that I already have decided I will not do business with this dealer, no matter what. However I decide to let MacInnis's superiors and Subaru of America of my experience. According to Mr. Mark MacInnis, in his fallowing apology, that was supposed to be a joke. To me it is disrespectful, rude, unprofessional, it has attitude to it, and for sure is not, as he says “a great business model”. Regardless to what price a customer asks for a response like that is unacceptable. The price I first received was OK, and most possibly I would have ordered at it, just because it was the closest dealer, but not after a response like that. After I had the GM - John Duell involved, I was offered the sad additional discount of $200… Even if there was a price to make me close my eyes to the way I was treated, $200 is far, far from it. Needless to say I was done with this dealership, which appeared to be a good thing for me. I negotiated a much better price with Wilde Subaru for the vehicle and placed an order with them. I guess huge profit is not so important to other dealers... Do yourself a favor and stay away from Don Miller Subaru, and especially from, as he says about himself “I am a very good person to work with”, Mr. Mark MacInnis. Update form August 2013: Apparently Mr. Mark MacInnis decided to contact me few months latter and tell me how he felt about my review. He sent me very rude and completely inappropriate message, calling me all kind of names, and also saying that my concern was not taken seriously by anyone at the dealership, including the general manager, and it was laugh at. This only proves my point that this person is absolutely unprofessional, and should not be involved in any type of work with customers, period... More

My wife is in need of a new car, hers had trouble starting. She took it into subaru hoping to trade it in to find out that it wouldn't start (a problem that had been starting to happen). Eric was the starting. She took it into subaru hoping to trade it in to find out that it wouldn't start (a problem that had been starting to happen). Eric was the salesman that helped us from start to finish. He spent a lot of time and then even the General Manager came out to try to help her out. After no success they pushed her car to the Chrysler service dept to see what they could do. They found the problem and and were able to get it fixed. During that whole process they were still able to start and work on getting us into our new car. Eric and the rest of the crew handled everything for us as to make the whole process as easy on us as possible. Eric and the crew went way beyond anything we would have expected. They truly treat you like family and they deserve more then the 5 start rating we could give them. We HIGHLY recommend Eric and Don Miller Subaru. More
I appreciated Matt's soft, low-key presentation of the vehicles I was interested in. He was thorough and followed up on questions I had. It was a pleasant experience with the staff willing to go the extra mile for the customer. Unlike some of my other dealership visits, there was no undue pressure to buy or add options. This was the BEST car buying experience my husband & I have experienced. Ever. Earl was friendly, through, and there was absolutely no pressure. He worked WITH us, and he knows his stuff! Between my husband and me, we have purchased many, many cars over the years, so this is saying something. Chris was a pleasure to work with, attending to the financing side of this purchase. He was very personable, and made a minefield of detail seem like a piece of cake. I was very impressed with his knowledge of "the small print" and all details beyond. He made a usually dry at best part of buying a car, a very pleasant experience. He enjoys what he does, is good at it, and it shows. Happily for us, the buyers! We met Don briefly, but he made it clear that our experience with this dealership was important. He also left us a follow up call the other day to check that we were happy with our purchase & to let him know if we had any questions or concerns. I even waited a week to come down from my new Forester euphoria, before I left a comment & rating. Wanted to be sure I was not unduly influenced by my wonderful new vehicle (or that new car smell! lol) I can say that I am most "grounded" and clear headed when I say that I would recommend this dealership without reservation, and Earl, Chris, and Don, in particular. Unable to locate the Subaru Outback that I wanted in the southeast region, I called dealerships in several cities and found my car in Madison, Wisconsin. Ryan Rippchen at Don Miller Subaru was really wonderful to work with. Over the years I have purchased several new cars and this was by far the best experience that I have had buying a car. Dealing with an honest, no nonsense, knowledgeable salesman made buying a car 850 miles away a seamless, enjoyable experience and I highly recommend this dealership. More
