First, after receiving no assistance at a locally preferred AAA service facility, I knew I must go to the local dreaded dealer, most known for exorbitant labor rates. A friend who lives in the area took me to Douglas Chrysler/ Jeep. I was greeted by a very friendly service advisor who told me he would try to see what he could do. The idea of driving 1200 miles without functioning windows, with two young children, was not a pleasant thought much less dealing with toll booths in the NorthEast. Mr. Tim Racco, the service advisor, provided myself and my friend with a ride home and two hours later informed me the vehicle was fixed. The bill was within reason and the experience was certainly made much more pleasant through the efforts of Mr. Racco. I am considering moving to the Venice area and you can be sure if this is the way that tourists are treated Douglas Chrysler/Jeep will be my regular repair shop as well as the first stop if I am looking for a new vehicle. safety warranty repair not done I took my 2006 Dodge Charger in to have the "lifetime warranty" gas tank repair done. I gave the service guy the complete printout for the repair and I took my 2006 Dodge Charger in to have the "lifetime warranty" gas tank repair done. I gave the service guy the complete printout for the repair and he ignored it. They did several other things that they did not ask me permission to do. At 3 p.m. they told me the car would have to stay another full day to fix it "correctly". They called me at 4:30 p.m. and asked if they could do some other work and I told them no - with which they said ok and my car was ready. What? The said the problem with the stalling and rough idle was fixed. My wife drove the car home and it stalled 3 times in ten minutes, once on Rt.41 in traffic. I got home and cancelled the payment on my credit card. They did not fix the problem and did not do anything I asked them to do. They were just trying to do something they could charge me for. More
