Excellent new SUV purchase! Overall, we were impressed with the excellent attention to the vehicle we wanted to purchase even though it was not on the lot. We will find it for you. A print out was provided of choices per the information we requested. The vehicle was located and after we came to terms on 2 trade-ins, the vehicle was transported to the dealerships prepped and ready to take home. Overall, the experience was pleasant and the service to please my wife and I was all that we could wish. Normally, I like dealing for a car as much as I like going to the dentist...both a pain but necessary at times. GREAT Salesman!! I was looking for a Chrysler300C in the 2011 to 2014 range. An internet search yielded a result at Douglas Jeep. I had purchased my last car from th I was looking for a Chrysler300C in the 2011 to 2014 range. An internet search yielded a result at Douglas Jeep. I had purchased my last car from them 11 years ago so I felt comfortable going back even though the dealership is an hour and a half drive from my home. I called to make an appointment with Dean on a Saturday afternoon, but ended up getting there just about when they were going to close. Dean had to go so he asked Kevin to help me. He spent a good bit of time with me and my wife looking over the car. I explained that I was not going to buy right there and then but that I was seriously considering it. I went that Monday morning to the bank and ended up getting financing for the car. Immediately after that appointment I called Kevin to let him know I had the financing and that I was going buy the car that Saturday to which he replied “See you then”. Not fifteen minutes went by and Kevin called me back. Basically he informed me that he had someone standing in front of him wanting to buy the car and that if I wanted it I was going to have to pony up $1,000. It seemed awfully fishy, but I gave him my credit card to hold the car until Saturday when I could get back. Wednesday Kevin called and asked me, in a rather pushy way, when I was going to come back to buy the car because they couldn’t hold it forever. I reminded him we had a conversation about my coming Saturday. I then got two more e-mails “reminding” me of my upcoming appointment. Trust me, I was getting ready to spend nearly $30,000. I was NOT going to forget that. I did not need reminding. So Saturday morning I drove down to buy the car. The day before, I noticed that the paperwork was $500 higher than what I remembered. When I arrived Saturday I was greeted by Dean who said that Kevin was busy and that he would be helping me. So we started discussing the $500 and he seemed to understand once I explained how we arrived at the number I thought we had agreed upon. Once Kevin heard Dean explaining that to the manager he came storming into the office just about accusing me of trying to pull a fast one. He then left to talk to the manager. Kevin’s next response was “We will split the difference with you but we can’t do anything more” and left. Dean came back into the room and saw that I was pretty upset. I said to him that if he wanted to make a sale then it was $500 off the price or I was walking. Dean left and came back within 30 seconds and said “It’s a done deal”. Kevin was haggling over $250 which based on the nearly $30,000 I spent that day was less than 1%. He nearly blew the sale. If it were not for Dean, the sale would have been over. I hope they reward Dean for this. He did an EXCELLENT job. As for Kevin, he could barely look my wife and I in the eyes when we left. If you want to buy a car from Douglas definitely make sure you ask for Dean and no one else! More
