Purchasing the vehicle process was great! I had no issues with the workers i dealt with along the way. Everything was going well, up until temp tags. They did not come with vehicle, so i was unable to drive the car for 2 days. They told me they would email the temp tags, it took them 2 days! So the 7-day return policy was reinstated. Everything seemed to be going great until 2 temp tags later. My latest one will be expiring again soon, so i reached out to get any feedback from anyone because another month has gone by and still no plates. I get a text message with link of paperwork to print out to take to my DMV. I called the person who sent the text right away, and explained that i should not have to go out of my way, and miss work to get temp tags. I do not work for driveway, and whether that money was going to be reimbursed or not I’m not going to miss a full day of work and hours to do what should have been done by the company! This is such an inconvenience. I’ve read many reviews on how horrible they are when it comes to getting registration! I should have purchased a vehicle locally. More
After an excellent initial experience with Broderick, I had multiple negative experiences with this company that claims to "make the journey easy." I purchased a vehicle that had to be delivered from C had multiple negative experiences with this company that claims to "make the journey easy." I purchased a vehicle that had to be delivered from CA. I was told some paperwork could be done digitally, some had to be hard copy, and a few would need to be notarized. The documents they sent contained multiple errors that required they be redone and sent back to me more than once - including after I'd already taken time off to get some notarized. After finally getting the correct forms and returning them, I was repeatedly told I would get updates on delivery. I was told when it arrived at a Driveway facility in my state to be cleaned and prepped. Several days went by with no updates or information unless I asked. Then suddenly I was told it was literally en route to me and about 1.5 hrs away. All told it took close to 4 weeks. Once I got the vehicle, there were no temporary plates and no title, even though I'd paid in full. I had to reach out to multiple people at Driveway before I was told they were going to register and get permanent plates for me so they needed the title temporarily. That's understandable - but why not tell me ahead of time? More importantly, with no temp plates, I could not drive the vehicle. I was told I could get temporary plates from my state DMV by more than 1 person at Driveway. Again, if you're trying to "make the journey easy" why wasn't this communicated to me ahead of time? Well, in this case, that's because what I was told is not true. After I got through to the DMV, I learned this is not something the DMV does in my state. More attempts to get help from Driveway and I finally spoke with 1 person who knew that my state DMV does not do that. Their solution? They told me to buy a 3 day travel permit and then renew it every 3 days over the 2-3 weeks she said it would take to get permanent plates. In short, I was told to do something illegal so that I did not own a vehicle that I could not drive. Again, why was none of this explained to me ahead of time? Finally, the vehicle itself had a few issues: headlight out, broken latch on a cupholder, and it only came with 1 key (with an almost dead battery.) I raised these issues with one person at Driveway who told me not to worry and that Driveway would help. However, when I brought them up with the Customer Resolution person, I was told "things do break." She was full of excuses, but short on empathy and "resolution" - I was basically told I would need to take care of fixing the issues that the vehicle arrived with. I did not pay for a "broken" vehicle! At the very least they should have offered to find a dealership to repair it. As far as the missing key, I was told that because the photos of the car didn't show 2 keys, they don't provide 2 keys??? Vehicles are sold with 2 keys. That is standard and if that is not the case - once again - communicate it clearly! (There was nothing written anywhere about not providing 2.) Again, no resolution or even attempt at understanding - basically just "too bad." In short, a company that claims to "make the journey easy" was anything but. I have bought a lot of vehicles over the years, and this was the most difficult and unsatisfactory car buying experience I've ever had. More
Bought a car for my 16 year old daughter. The car buying process and value were great. The registration process had been terrible. Driveway's vendor didn't bother to send my title application The car buying process and value were great. The registration process had been terrible. Driveway's vendor didn't bother to send my title application to the DMV until the day after my 30 tag expired. Since they sent the paperwork directly to the county and refused to send it to me, the DMV won't talk to me and will only deal with Driveway's vendor. I'm now 3 weeks past the expiration of my temp tag and so don't have my registration. The vendor's solution was just drive it and if I get pulled over just explain the situation and the police will "likely" let me go. Obviously, I'm not putting my 16 year old daughter in that situation, so the car sits. I've reached out to Driveway directly and they will not respond to my emails. I should have listened to the many, many negative reviews I read about their registration process. Never again. More
Purchased a Honda passport from them a few weeks ago. Car is great, but I am having issues with the registration. They provided a 30 day temp tag which expires today. Contacted them about getting a new o Car is great, but I am having issues with the registration. They provided a 30 day temp tag which expires today. Contacted them about getting a new one but they are unable to issue another. They did not submit the paperwork for registration until September 1st, about 2 weeks after I received the car. They say to expect a 3-4 week wait time from the date the paperwork was submitted, so I will be without a car for 1-2 weeks. Customer service did not have any options besides waiting for the registration to come in. Feel like they need to submit the paperwork as soon as you receive the car so this issue does not occur. It’s not acceptable to have a new car I am unable to drive. More
I found a good deal on Driveway and rapidly contacted them thru office phone to process the purchase. I did everything they requested for the purchase: created account, gave them all my identity, verifie them thru office phone to process the purchase. I did everything they requested for the purchase: created account, gave them all my identity, verified and uploaded document, applied for financing and got a payment plan, deposited money ($500)... EVERYTHING! I just waited for the delivery of the NEW car, it's 37k dollars. what you can guess, then? The next day, the dumbest female secretary informed me that the car was SOLD to someone else, nothing to explained! They even didn't want to TALK to me when I called back and asked for reasons. Just simply like that! My credit score was checked 2 times, by this xx company and by Toyota, so it went bad after that. I also spent 3-4 days to search and compare and contact many places to filter down this "good deal". All turned into TRASH because they didn't work honestly with me. I thought they found another better buyer and dumped me out. You know, I still had the Vin and 2 months later I checked on it on Bumper, and found out that the car was sold much later than the date I purchased it on this dishonest Driveway. So my theory was right, they sold me out! All I can say for this messy business is: KEEP AWAY from them or ready to SUE them. If you have too much time in your hand, or nothing to do, go mess with those people! I won't ever! Read around, you'll find out what I meant. More
I bought a $33,000 truck from Jeep Only Las Vegas through Driveway.com. The vehicle arrived with ABS fault lights on, and error messages saying service brake system, service trailer brake system, and service Driveway.com. The vehicle arrived with ABS fault lights on, and error messages saying service brake system, service trailer brake system, and service park sense system. Also, the front right wheel well liner was shredded and rubbing on the tire. They're not supposed to deliver with servicelights on. Apparently, the delivery driver could not hear this on his 2 hour drive, but I did as soon as I drove a mile from my house. But he also looked at the dash with an obvious error message and wrote NO service lights on the delivery report. I reached out to Jeep Only about the issue, but the response I got was to contact Driveway because "they're their own entity" which I interpreted as, "not our problem anymore." So I purchased a $33,000 CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED, from a dealership that arrived with electronic issues and they quickly pass the buck to Driveway. The paperwork was signed by the dealership and my down payment check was made out to Jeep Only, so one would assume they would want to rectify the problem. I contacted Driveway immediately, and was told customer service department would handle it and contact me ASAP. The delivery company acknowledged their driver made an error, but no other response. Now on day 4 I still have not been contacted by Driveway, the dealership, not the transportation company. Terrible buying experience! Also, it won't shift into 4WD because of the ABS error, AND, the transmission is leaking...on a supposed "CPO." I've submitted a complaint to the BBB in hopes to get help in resolving this issue because I don't know what to do because I don't feel the vehicle is safe to drive. More

They make you jump through many unnecessary hoops which takes time and all but guarantees the vehicle you want gets sold to someone else. Very disorganized and unprofessional. After leaving a deposit and providing them will all the info they required, they came back to me a day later to tell me someone “just” walked into the dealer and purchased the vehicle I had the deposit on! A miscommunication with the dealership is what they said. A complete waste of time and what’s worse is when I expressed my displeasure, they ghosted me. Not a single person reached back out to see if they can make it right. It took DAYS of consistent pestering just to get someone to refund my deposit! They simply don’t care. They rely on gullible and uninformed people to make money. Never had such a bad experience with a company like this before. Try Carvana or CarMax instead, as it doesn’t get much worse than this. More

I started looking for a used hybrid on Friday 8/11/23. I ran across driveway.com and quickly found a vehicle I liked. I sent in my order for the car. Joseph contacted me right away and we started the proc I ran across driveway.com and quickly found a vehicle I liked. I sent in my order for the car. Joseph contacted me right away and we started the process. I let Joseph know I was needing to get in a vehicle ASAP. The first car I wanted was coming from California and Joseph was proactive on letting me know that vehicles coming from California do not come with temporary tags or plates, so I could possibly wait up to 30 days before I could drive my car. I quickly found another vehicle, which happened to be local, so there was no shipping charges. I had my own financing through Navy Federal, so all I had to do was pay a refundable $500 deposit and show proof of insurance. This is where I started to encounter poor customer service. The communication was superb up until I secured the deal. I noticed the vehicle was still showing available online, so I asked Joseph why it didn’t show as pending like the first vehicle I was going to get. My intuition started getting a bad feeling so I looked up reviews. I saw several reviews from people saying they started the process only to find out the vehicle they wanted was sold. He responded the next day and told me not to worry that I was the first person to get to this car and it was reserved for me. I asked him how long before it could be delivered. I didn’t get an answer, so I decided to call the dealership myself. The dealership informed me they had just received the car the day before I ordered it, and it could take up to two weeks depending on what needed to be done on the car. I text Joseph and told him I wasn’t aware that it would be up to two weeks before I could get the car. He told me he was not aware, which was a lie because the dealership told me he was very much aware. I secured the deal on a Friday and the service tech that was going to be getting my vehicle ready, does not work on weekends. I called the dealership on Monday and the service guy left at 4 PM, but he had not had a chance to look at my vehicle to see when I could possibly get it. I reached out to Joseph and told him I wanted to find another vehicle that is ready to be shipped and sent him to other vehicles that I was interested in. I didn’t get a response until almost 24 hours later. He said he sent a message to both dealerships and would get back with me. I decided to contact both of the dealership myself. I found out one of them was already sold, and the other was available and ready to be shipped. At this point, I was very frustrated with Joseph and the entire process. I didn’t feel comfortable going forward with a new vehicle or the vehicle that I had already ordered. I asked Joseph to cancel the order and he tried talking me into finding another vehicle. I ended up calling customer service and canceling the sale on Wednesday afternoon. About 30 minutes after I canceled the sale, the service guy called me and told me my vehicle would really be ready no later than Saturday. I contacted a sales rep at the dealership and am now purchasing directly through the dealership. I wasn’t happy with the way Joseph handled this. I think it worked out exactly how it should have, because there’s no telling how long I would’ve had to wait for my plates to come in. I am purchasing this vehicle so I can start driving Uber, which I cannot do until I have permanent plates. The number one complaint I see is people waiting months for their plates. More
