Called to set up a service appointment for a software patch to be installed that makes Hyundai and Kia vehicles harder to steal. Explained to the agent that I had read an article about the software patch patch to be installed that makes Hyundai and Kia vehicles harder to steal. Explained to the agent that I had read an article about the software patch. He placed me on hold to check with the Service department. When he came back on line I was informed the Software patch would cost $180. At that point I shared with him that the article clearly stated there would be no cost for the patch. He stated that he would like to know more about the article. I agreed to pull up the article again and call him back with the information. I returned the call shared the information and he read the article. He stated he would have to talk about with the Service department and placed me on hold. When he got back returned i was informed the Dealership had not received any information about the patch and there was nothing they could do. At that point I shared my concerns and told him I would call back in one week. After getting off the phone with the Dealership I decided to call Hyundai Corp. Explained the situation and the conversations I had with their Dealership and was asked to provide some information . . . Name, Phone Number, Email Address, and the last eight of my VIN Number. In a matter of 5 minutes I was informed that my car did not need a patch. My car already has an immobilizer which is what the patch creates in cars that need it. Thank them for their help and hung up. Decided to call the Dealership back an let them know how my call with Hyundai went and suggest they share the information with the Service department for any future calls they may get regarding this issue. Was told that they didn't think it was necessary to pass the information to the department and ended the call. I certainly hope any future calls are not handled this way! More
The construction is a bit disconcering, but Caleb made the experience palpable. His job has been made much more difficult, but did not experience an issue. the experience palpable. His job has been made much more difficult, but did not experience an issue. More
