According to the CarFax report there was an accident but it said that airbags did not deploy and I decided that it is probably a minor accident and went on to check the car. I was also attracted to the prize which was approximately $10,000 lower than the average prize for these cars. I was introduced to Alan who was my sales rep. He did not know much about the car. He not only had difficulty answering most of my questions but also he appeared annoyed by my questions. Alan did not know any details or the area of impact on the car. He suggested I have the car inspected on my expenses. One of their mechanics came to look at the car and thought the left back door was repainted and assumed that is where the impact must have been. I found out later that the impact is in the front. Alan reluctantly agreed to go for a test drive after I told him I was not familiar with the area. In general he was unfriendly and unprofessional. I was then handed off to Sean to handle the paperwork. Sean began impatiently presenting a contract for me to sign without explaining what it was that I was signing. I asked him to slow down and explained that English is my second language and he continued at the same pace. He was also very unprofessional and was showing attitude. I had to call my insurance company to have requested information faxed to the dealer. Sean asked me to leave his office and to call outside in the hallway as there was “confidential information” in the office. I felt somewhat uncomfortable to be treated that disrespectful. After all I was purchasing a car for over $50,000. Something was telling me that I have to run away from this guys but I really wanted to go for this car. Big mistake which I regretted! After I signed the papers Alan gave me the key to the car and promptly left. I then discovered that the spare tire and lug wrench was missing and the spare key is not working. I went back to the office to find that Alan had left, and Sean said he would have these items mailed to my home. I made many phone calls to the dealer. The phone is picked up by Danny who is usually doesn’t know anything. His usual answer is that the manager David will call me back and he never does. It has been 4 (four) months since then I am still waiting for those items. Meanwhile they sent me owner’s manual and…..a first aid kit. Within the papers they gave me when I purchased the car there was a 30 days limited warranty which says “The dealer will pay 100% of the labor and the parts for the covered systems that fail during warranty period”. Don’t count on that. Within this period I had the oil leak and A/C repaired for total of $860. This was not covered by the factory warranty because it appeared that was related to the accident. In both occasions I called the dealer to let them know and they told me to go ahead and fix it they will reimburse me. At the end they told me that they will not reimburse me for the repairs because I reportedly “did not discuss this with us” and we did not give you “permission” to move ahead on the repairs. They also said I should have brought the car there for repair. I was never told to do this. To date, I have not received any of the items they have promised. I have had to continue to drive the car without a spare tire, instruments or a spare key. Hundreds of hours have been wasted on this not to mention thousands of dollars. I have never been treated so poorly, disrespectful, and clearly discriminated. I made a big mistake purchasing a car from this dealer. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! More

I waited an hour while their mechanics supposedly fixed the issue. When they brought the car around the A/C appeared to be working, but I specifically asked if they had tested to make sure there were no leaks or larger issues and didn't just add fluid. Alan assured me they had and there were no leaks, just the fluid had gotten low. Four days later my husband was driving the car and the A/C stopped working we brought it back to Direct Car Buying since it was in the 7 day return period. They gave us a loaner vehicle and it took 2 weeks for them to fix the issue (which clearly they had ignored to begin with). During that time we never received a phone call from them with updates on how things were progressing. We had to call every time. On several occasions we called and were promised a call back the same day and never got one. When my husband complained about the poor service we were met with a bad attitude and no apology from the same salesman who sold us the car, Alan. We finally got the Traverse back and the A/C was working again. Three weeks later fluid started pouring out from under the dashboard onto the passenger side floor. So I took it to a local Chevy dealer and they determined the A/C hose was completely clogged. The mechanic said it was obvious it had been like this for some time and it was not something that would have happened in the 1 month we'd owned the vehicle. When they called the company that administers the extended warranty I purchased they were told they had not received any paperwork from Direct Car Buying showing I had purchased this warranty yet (luckily I had a copy of all of the paperwork with the policy number). Turns out the clearing of the hose was not covered under warranty so we had to pay $125 out of pocket to fix the A/C...AGAIN. I can only surmise that the mechanics at Direct Car Buying are either incompetent or they deliberately ignore problems. Either way I would not trust them or their "100 point inspection". If you buy a car from them take it to a mechanic you trust within the first 7 days for a thorough inspection. I love my Traverse but now I worry what else will go wrong. I would never buy from them again. More

I really like the business idea of Direct Car Buying, I think it's time that buying a car is no longer a hassle. I have always been worried to go to a car dealer, and get pushed into purchasing something I think it's time that buying a car is no longer a hassle. I have always been worried to go to a car dealer, and get pushed into purchasing something I am not so sure about. Buying a car should be easy and worry free, with guarantees. Do you buy a piece of furniture that costs thousands of dollars, but not able to tell its quality? You shouldn't have to do that with cars either. Not only their advertised price was the best on the market I could find, there were no hidden fees or issues during completing the transaction. The staff, particularly David and Sean were very professional and courteous, test drive the car on my own and provided me with details of the history of the car and its carfax report. Most importantly, I was allowed to make the purchase decision on my own, without trying to influence my decision. They were right, the car was such a good buy, it needed no convincing. I highly recommend to anyone that's looking to buy a car without having to spend the whole day battling the salespersons for an affordable price and listening to all the crazy extras they want to sell with the car. We had never been to their showroom, so we made an appointment to see a specific car on a Saturday afternoon. The dealership gave us a reminder/confirmation call at 9am, Saturday morning. We confirmed our appointment. As we were driving from Arlington/Washington, DC border to the appointment in Sterling, we called to double check the address for our GPS. The person answering the phone didn't give us the address right away but asked why we wanted the address, we explained that we had a 2pm appt. (it was 12:15pm) and we needed the address for the GPS. The salesperson asked our name and appt time and put us on hold. He came back on the line to ask if we were going to on time to the 2pm appt. We assured him yes, but we needed the address, in order to get there. He gave us the address. We arrived 40 minutes early. We were greeted. Asked for our driver’s license for verification and so we could test drive the car. We were asked to log onto their computer program to sign in for our appointment in the waiting area. As we were doing so, there was a couple waiting as well in the waiting area. After checking in, we were lead outside to the car by the salesman. The couple from the waiting area was walking ahead of us. They were lead to the car that we had made an appointment to see. As we approached the car (we were not 6 feet from the car) the sales people asked us to wait and let the other couple in front us look at the car and they were going to take it for a test drive first. We asked if they had an appointment to see the car. The salespeople (by now there are 3 of them), tried to explain that the couple had come several days ago, looked at the car, they now had financing and stopped by to see the car without an appointment. And if they choose not to take the car, then we could test drive it and decide if we wanted to purchase it. And the one salesperson mentioned too, he had someone coming at 6pm to see the car in question as well. I asked if the couple taking the car had an appointment. They said “no”. And we were left standing there on the sidewalk. I told the salesperson that it wasn’t right to allow a customer to make an appointment, and take a “drop in” over the schedule appointment holder. I was told it was first come, first served. Why have appointment/scheduling, if an organization is going to business that way? The sales people had no answer, and asked us if we wanted to wait to see if the couple decided to purchase the car. I was completely dumbfounded by the lack of customer service and professionalism by the staff at Direct Car Buying in Sterling. I have purchased cars from2 different CarMax Dealerships successfully in the past. I know how this business concept is suppose to work- The company- Direct Car Buying was a huge disappointment, a complete waste of time and gas. This experience showed me how little they about the customer and their lack of customer service. Ironically, they didn’t even have the professionalism to apologize for the lack of customer service and wasting our time on Saturday. More
Purchased a 2011 VW CC Sport and this was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had.Everyone was very friendly and knew exactly who i was and why I was there as soon as i came in.
