Rude-Inexperienced Sales Rep This could've been their easiest sale ever! I already owned a 2015 Honda CR-V and loved the look of the new 2018 CR-V's. I had popped in the previou This could've been their easiest sale ever! I already owned a 2015 Honda CR-V and loved the look of the new 2018 CR-V's. I had popped in the previous week just for a quick look. So, I stopped in again late on a Saturday evening. This time the sales rep, Brion, took me for a test drive. He was pretty nonchalant, seemed tired & didn't offer any product information. However, IF I asked a question he would answer it. I remember thinking that he didn't seem interested in selling the car. Nor did he possess much product knowledge. When I sat down at his desk, his co-worker began to tell me all kinds of neat safety things about the CR-V! I told him that I was interested in having my car appraised. Isn't that a big "buying sign"?? He came back saying that they would give me "between" $16K & $18K for my car. I told him that Kelly Blue Book's value of my car was $19,104. He told me that KBB was just an "opinion"!! I found out later from the GM that they were a 3-man operation and hadn't taken the time to appraise my car because they were short-handed & didn't know if I were serious enough for them to invest the time for an appraisal!! This interaction led to 2 or 3 days of back and forth phone calls (damage control) between myself & the GM. He wanted to know what he had to do to get my business. He initially said that he would take $30,000 for the CR-V., which was advertised online for $31,000. So, I made him an offer of $28,000 plus the KBB price of $19,000 for my car. He declined the $28K offer. After the horrible customer service and the many days of phone calls, Napleton Honda just basically wanted to do DAMAGE CONTROL. When you ask, "What can we do to get your business"? You should counter the customer's offer and then bend over backwards to leave that customer with a good feeling about your dealership. I spent my money elsewhere. The new motto: "Napleton's needs Customer Service Training" More
