If becoming the worst dealership on the planet was a competition Elgin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has set the bar extremely high. I purchased a used car from them earlier this fall. Upon making our purchas competition Elgin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has set the bar extremely high. I purchased a used car from them earlier this fall. Upon making our purchase and going through the financial part of the deal I explained to them that they were doing the tax & title information incorrectly since I live in Indiana. They assured me, with all of the arrogance they could muster, that "we know what the title and sales tax requirements for your state are and we can transfer your plates for you". While, I knew that to not be the case, I was excited to get my new to me car and I could get this issue fixed after the sale. We completed the process and went home. I registered the car in Indiana, and yes, they had charged me over $1100.00 too much. After many phone calls and voice mails I was finally able to talk to a business manager. I copied and mailed all of the needed documents to them to get a refund. While, this refund of the over charge was in process, less than 30 days and under 1000 miles into ownership of my new car it broke down on the side of the road and left me and my son stranded. IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I had it towed to a local shop, who is a trusted European car repair facility. When they diagnosed it and gave me an estimate I was floored. I had just spent over $32,000, so not a cheap xxx car, with a $10,000 cash down payment and now I faced a $9200.00 repair bill. Yes, a repair bill of more than 25% of the value of the entire car. When I called them to express my frustration. They said that it was my problem and the only thing that they were willing to do was make sure that the $1100.00 they already owed me was sent out ASAP. They were not willing to do anything at all to help.... I was basically told to tough xxxx it's my problem to deal with. I cannot say this with enough emphasis BUYER BEWARE ... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. is there a way to add negative stars to these reviews ? More

Wood never buy a car there again. Looked at a used car I liked and they said they would give me $1000.00 for my trade in, went back the next day and a sales manager said they would only give $500.00 for the liked and they said they would give me $1000.00 for my trade in, went back the next day and a sales manager said they would only give $500.00 for the trade in. I brought my car in for service, over the phone they told me it would be $205.00 plus tax, when I got there it was over $300.00. Never again. More

We bought our Cherokee at this dealer in 2019! We have had our service maintenance done there a few times and have found the service to be excellent! The last person who serviced us “Alan” was quick and had our service maintenance done there a few times and have found the service to be excellent! Visited twice based on the lease quote provided by sales person , the number they give they don’t honor. It was ridiculous when manager agrees on price all finalized and later they say we cannot make it a person , the number they give they don’t honor. We were very serious about buying a Jeep Wrangler. We live in Minnesota and I talked with the general manager, he made it very clear that they will not hold a jeep even if I put earnest money down, since live in Minnesota and I talked with the general manager, he made it very clear that they will not hold a jeep even if I put earnest money down, since they were in such high demand. Again, we were very serious about buying a wrangler. I can guarantee that we would have driven off the lot with the jeep . I told him that there was absolutely no way that I was going to drive or fly down just to be told it was sold. He repeated his stand that they will not hold a Jeep Wrangler. Since our conversation on August 26 they have emailed me twice and I replied I’m not going to go there if they won’t hold it. And they just now called me. Guess it’s not in such high demand after all. They would have to give me $5000.00 off the price at this point and pay our airfare If they want me to buy it now. More
