Sir I am reaching out to you in hopes that I am able to hear more about your situation at Ford Lincoln of Huntington (FLOH). My name is Tim and I work with FLOH in several capacities, most importantly consulting in customer service. I was recently hired to review the sales department and how to improve upon the experience of the department. If I experienced the same situation as you had , I would be very upset to say the least. I don't know anyone who wouldl like being treated in a manner as yours. It is situations like this that make me realize how important it is for FLOH to improve on its ability to service customers in a timely and professional manner. There is no excuse for this to happen to you. What there is room for is improvement in how people are treated, the sales departments awareness of a situation like yours and the ability for them to improve on this type of situation. If you allow me the opportunity to speak with you, you can be assured that I will make the owner aware and make sure that this type of behavior is not, ever given to another customer that walks in. The only way for the team and company to become better is to hear and understand people like yourself through people like myself. This is in response to your message on DealerRater. I don't know what else I can say to you. I described my situatiion to you in detail. When purchasing a car, do you make a spur of the moment decision in two minutes? I do not. I need to think about my options and I need to compare prices with different dealerships. John's behavior was disgusting and very unaccepatable. Based upon my experience, I will not be recommending this dealership to my friends and family. I will make sure to tell them to go to Ford Lincoln of Queens and speak to Liz. PS. John smelled of cigarette smoke. He couldn't even wait until he was done helping me before he had a smoke. He had to light up as soon as we got outside to take our test drive. Not nice!

I understand....feeling pressured to purchase a big ticket item like a car is not a comfortable experience and one that can put a customer like yourself in an awkward and uncomfortable situation. Furthermore as a non smoker myself along with my wife, I would not enjoy riding in a new car with someone who just smoked . My wife would not hold back on this situation, as it can be offensive to a non smoker. Lastly, not shaking your hand as a gesture of good faith is a failure of personal and professional etiquette. My job is to inform the General Manager then Owner of these three areas where the dealership fell short of providing the service that you deserved. By creating pressure, smoking and not having the good faith gesture to shake your hand when you were leaving has underscored that Ford Lincoln of Huntington has fallen short, way short of what we should be doing. Quite frankly we failed to deliver a buying experience that you and every customer deserves . For those situations I apologize, and would like to say I am sorry on behalf of Ford Lincoln of Huntington and myself. I have already spoken to the General Manager Wayne Rice about this situation and will speak to the owner Steve as well. John will also be spoken to not only by me but both Wayne and Steve, strongly, to make sure number one that he knows this is not acceptable and number two that if this type of instance occurs again that he stands to lose his employment. I will write this instance up and it will be entered into his file to be documented. I appreciate your feedback, the detail, and taking the time to let me know more about what happened so this situation is not lost in vain but one Ford Lincoln of Huntington will improve upon, that's my job and I intend to deliver on it. I realize being a consumer myself (I have written online complaints) that my intention is to have a voice, to create change, and make sure the ownership knows whats happening. This is what creates positive change in organizations , from negative one's. I'm well aware that everyone doesn't always "get it" and its my job to make them get it. The dealership is made up of people with families that want to create incomes to support their families and give value to customers. If you feel comfortable based on the feedback I have given you that this dealership, the General Manager, owner (and John as of Monday) have heard your voice and will do better, I would humbly and respectfully ask if you would consider taking down the review. Your message has hit its target, dead center, as it should, so FLOH can be better. I just don't like to see it create a negative situation for all the employees and their families, because negative reviews drive customers away. I know that that is not your intention, and that is why I was asking you. If you find it in your heart to do so it would fall on greatful ears. If not and you feel that I can do something additional to what I have said here please give me your suggestions, I would welcome them. Sincerely, Tim
