Negative Experience Negotiated a deal on a lease for a new CX5. When I sat down to sign the lease agreement, they included a $500 down payment which was never in the agr Negotiated a deal on a lease for a new CX5. When I sat down to sign the lease agreement, they included a $500 down payment which was never in the agreed upon terms of the deal. Thankfully, I had the deal in writing on an email from the sales person and, after a “call” to the general manager, they agreed to remove the down payment. I picked up the car and several people point out to me streaks and swirls all over the body of the vehicle. This was only apparent when viewed in the sunlight and at a particular angle, but it was clearly present. I went to the car wash and was told that those marks were the result of poor detailing by the dealership. They quoted $100 to do polishing compound and wax but suggested I contact the dealer to do the work. I called and was told the general manager would call me back to discuss. After not getting any call back, I opted to do the work and pay out of pocket and the car now looks perfect. Today, the general manager calls...too little, too late. He apologizes but makes no offer to reimburse me or offer any equivalent compensation such as free oil changes, etc. Several people strongly advised me to buy from Wantagh Mazda but I didn’t listen letting the lower price cloud my judgment. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little more to deal with reputable people. More
