To be honest, I don't enjoy shopping for a new car, mainly because of the high-pressure tactics most salespersons use. But our experience with Jennifer was a new and rewarding one. I give her an "excellent" in terms of her professionalism, her knowledge of Subaru products, and especially her being a thoroughly nice person with whom to buy a car. When I need a car, I tell my wife what I want and she goes/finds/negotiates. She usually comes hom furious with her experience and we end up having sales people call the house to follow up every 15 minu goes/finds/negotiates. This time she came home, told me she had met a very respectful and knowledgable sales guy who answered her every question, left no stone unturned and gave her a fixed price on the vehicle we wanted. We did not get a series of desperate calls from the dealership, in fact we were the ones that called back 3 days later to follow up. My experience at the dealership and specifically with Dan was just as great and we ended up buying the car we wanted at the price we agreed, with no secret fees or anything else you commonly associate with a car buying experience. I would whole heartedly recommend the whole experience to anyone interested in a car and seek out Dan to make your experience even better. More
Outstanding service - It is rare to have a great experience when bringing your car in for service but it is just what I had. Called in the morning to schedule an appointment for brake problems and was pleasantly surprised to told I could come in at noon. From the first phone call to the "check in" and every step in between, I was given unsurpassed customer service. My car problems were explained clearly to me while actually looking under my car and solutions suggested. I was not pressured into making any unnecessary repairs or fix items that could wait a few months and the work was done in a timely fashion. Although I did not ask for a loaner car, I was offered one that I used for the 3 hours that the work was going to take. Upon my return, the bill was reviewed and explained, future, suggested work was clearly written down on my invoice for reference and all this in a friendly, honest and pleasant atmosphere. Everyone from the mechanics, to the front desk and service representative were incredibly respectful, friendly and genuine. NO arrogance here! I highly recommend servicing your car here. My experience @ Exeter Subaru was very good. No typical high-pressure selling by my sales person. Dan Maynes was very pleasant to my son and I during the entire experience. I purchased a new Forester and high-pressure selling by my sales person. Dan Maynes was very pleasant to my son and I during the entire experience. I purchased a new Forester and everything went very smoothly during the test drive and the sales paperwork and delivery. This was my first ever car buying experience and I have to say, Tim Hartford made this a very painless experience. I had met Tim Hartford back in August of 2012 when girlfriend Taylor and brother Patrick to say, Tim Hartford made this a very painless experience. I had met Tim Hartford back in August of 2012 when girlfriend Taylor and brother Patrick both purchased Subaru's from Tim on the same day! That experience alone from the ride along through price negotiations, made me realize that Exeter Subaru was a dealership I wanted to do business with. I had called Tim a few days in advance letting him know I would be stopping in to test drive the 2013 Subaru CrossTrek. Tim was courteous, and we set up an appointment for 9:00am on Saturday 04/27 to get this process started. I received nothing short of 5 star customer services while I was there. Tim clearly knew the Subaru product well and made me feel comfortable when I had specific question to ask on the CrossTrek. When it got down to numbers, Tim and the entire finance department were very considerate of my needs. From getting the most value I could for my trade and working the numbers in favor of my purchase requests; the entire negotiating process was flexible, easy and painless. We had a deal with a handshake, some paperwork to fill out demonstrating the commitment on my end to purchase, and ultimately, had Tim trying to locate my CrossTrek at another dealership with specific color (graphite grey) and additional options requested. Mind you, this all happened in a matter of 2 hours (as I had a tee time to make at a local golf course). The vehicle took 48 hours to arrive in house from another local dealership. I stopped by Exeter Subaru on 04/30 to finalize the paperwork. Here I dealt with Finance Manager, Jim LaFlamme. To my surprise, Jim had done some “shopping around” for a loan and actually got me a lower APR then I was originally quoted! Unbelievable to say the least, I was pleasantly surprised with that news. Jim made the process quick, easy, and in a matter of an hour I was driving my 2013 Subaru CrossTrek off the lot! All in all, Exeter Subaru is a place every potential car buyer should consider doing business. The customer service, work ethic, friendliness, price and overall customer experience is one that I would highly recommend. I went in with no intention of buying. I had a current lease on a 2011 Prius and I was doing research for a second AWD vehicle. John greeted me and knew his product very well. I told him which two vehicles I was interested in and he pulled them both side by side so I could compare them directly. He had an answer for every question I had. After we test drove a 2014 Forester we went inside to do the usual "what can we do to earn your business" I told him if my fiance approved and the payment was about the same then I could trade the Prius. A few moments later I was told that it could be done (to my surprise). They were able to give me a quote without pulling my credit in order to avoid the credit ding. They did this without me having to ask as if it only made sense. John wrote me up a contract that included a stipulation that my fiance had to approve! I ended up getting the 2014 Forester for around $3,000 under book. As I was having zxylon put on, I came back the next day. I was in and out of the dealership in under 45 minutes! I went in, signed the papers, and left. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS AT ANY OTHER DEALER BEFORE!! To top it all off, I get free tires for life so long as I get my car serviced with them and I get $500 for every referal I bring in. More
When looking for a new car I went to Exeter Subaru and asked for Dan Maynes based on a friend's recommendation. Dan was great! Knowlegeable, friendly, patient and NOT pushy! Cannot attest to anything service related at this point, but based on the friendliness of everyone I met at the dealership (sales, parts, business guy Jim!), I'm betting that service will also be a good experience. My husband and I recently had a baby and were looking to 'up-size' our Legacy sedan. My husband stopped by Exeter Subaru for a test drive and had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer. We were looking for a used 'up-size' our Legacy sedan. My husband stopped by Exeter Subaru for a test drive and had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer. We were looking for a used Outback and had a few things we wanted specifically in the vehicle. Jennifer took this information and contacted us immediately when a trade came in. She was helpful, supportive, and informative without making us feel pressured. Exeter Subaru did not feel like a 'typical' car dealership. All of our questions and concerns were quickly addressed both during the purchasing process and after we brought the vehicle home. It is a welcoming environment which makes shopping for and buying a car less overwhelming and difficult. We would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking to buy at Exeter. She was truly a pleasure to work with and we couldn't be happier with our purchase. More
