Archaic Policies Let me first start by saying that I was a regular customer and was loyal to this dealership, brining my car back there even though I have a different Let me first start by saying that I was a regular customer and was loyal to this dealership, brining my car back there even though I have a different Subaru dealer closer to where I live since I moved but I appreciated the level of service I have had done in the past and knowing the team at Exeter Subaru knew the history on my vehicle. With that said, I brought my vehicle in to have the AC system diagnosed (not just recharged… actually diagnosed) and was told that the reason my car was not blowing cold air was just some cheap O-rings. Paid for those to be replaced and then for the re-charge of the AC system. About a month later I bring the vehicle back and have it rechecked and was told that there was more dye in another location and quoted a new price for repairs. The issue I have with this is that if they would have properly inspected and located ALL areas where there was dye leaking the first time I would not have had to pay for the first repair/diag/recharge to be done because I have an extended service warranty plan that covered the second repair in full (and would have covered the first repair had they located ALL of the issues the first time) so I had to pay for the first visit and my deductible on my service warranty claim the second time all for the same issue. When I asked about this I was told that it was a separate issue and I could not be refunded for the first visit and still had to pay my deductible on this one. I would think the dealership would take ownership of this mistake because you can’t tell me that the second issue started after the first repair. Besides all that, my car was ready on a Friday but the dealership had not received payment from my warranty company yet so they would not give me the car even though we already had the claim fully authorized by the company paying it. I asked for the service manager and was told she was not available/around and that it didn’t matter who I talked to the car wouldn’t be leaving the shop without full payment. If that is the case the policy should be re-examined because that is archaic… does a Dr. not you leave the office until they get paid from the insurance? No. Why they couldn’t just have me sign a form stating if they didn’t get the rest of the money from the warranty company I would be liable and they would bill me/call me I don’t know. Also I have been given my car back before without the dealer having received full payment because this happened last time and they let me pay my deductible and leave but the guy didn’t want to hear it. I will not be going back to this dealer, even though I am halfway through a diagnostic process on a different issue (just waiting for the light to come back on so we know what the issue is). I’d rather start over somewhere else. If you do end up going here, Jamie is the best one in the service dept. and you are lucky if you get her as your advisor. More

John Webster accompanied my wife and I on our test drive. His knowledge of the vehicle was encylcopedic, and his enthusiasm for the brand was very obvious. We didn't buy immediately after the test drive, but my wife was fully sold. We returned a little less than a week later, with financing handled personally, to make a deal and sign a purchase agreement. John Webster was busy with another customer, so he asked Jonathan Dube to work with us. Jonathan Dube was likewise excellent. He was knowledgeable and professional and we were very happy to have his help. The happy portion of the exchange ended when we'd settled on a price. This was when the financial department began to try to work me over. Despite having already set up my own financing, I got to explain to THREE different people - THREE SEPARATE TIMES - that, like them, I too have a great relationship with my credit union. No, I don't want your assistance. I'm quite comfortable handling financing myself - that's why I've already done it. Next was the joy of turning down every upsale service plan and customizable part made by Subaru. The repeated visits and pressure to upsale and use in-house financing was irritating and ate up an hour of time. Delivery day went smoothly, pleasantly, and quickly. My wife loves her car, and I'll return to Exeter Subaru again. I'll recommend them to others - but I'll also warn them that the dealership aggressively pushes upgrades and in-house financing as soon as the decision to purchase is made. More

I love this dealership because they listen and always treat me with respect. The service manager, Christine, has always taken the time to work issues with me. . Her staff always finds a way to work you in and they are very clear about what is to be done and what has been done. I have a difficult schedule and often have to be fit in where I can. They have always been most helpful. More

The difference between Exeter Subaru and any Autofair, (especially Haverhill, MA Autofair) is night and day! I worked with Tyler McGrath who was fantastic! He was personable, knowledgeable, and made sure any question we had was answered. Out of the six dealerships I went to I was beyond impressed with his customer service skills. Very low pressure and treated me and my fiance how he would want to be treated. I also have to give a shout out to Nick Wixon who was also very helpful in finding my fiance's car. He took the time out of his busy schedule to answer questions I had about a few cars we were interested in. Signing processes for both cars was a breeze and I did not feel like they were being sneaky and hiding any information from me. Dan Bottomley and Isacc Patsfield were very upfront with everything and I knew I could trust them. I love how when picking add on's there is a huge I-Pad so everything is clear and you can customize what you would like for your car. After buying my car, Lindsey Purington who is incredibly friendly and I have always been greeted by her with a warm friendly smile when I come in always makes me feel welcome. She went above and beyond helping me with seat protectors for my CrossTrek and giving me information about all of my service questions. Of course I can't forget about Dave Flowers. He is such a great sales manager who has been a part of my car buying process since I stepped in the door. He LISTENED to my frustrations of the last car dealership I bought from and assured me that I would not have the same experience with them. He stood by his word and listened to what I wanted and did not try selling me what I clearly didn't want like the last guys. Very respectable man who won't let you leave knowing you are questioning anything. Overall, Exeter Subrau needs to give all their staff a huge pat on the back. They worked as a team (the way every company should work) and made me feel valued, welcome, and most importantly apart of their Subaru family. I will most certainly be coming back for future cars for myself as well as recommending them to friends and family.
