Looked under the hood, at home, after hearing some rattling and to my horror discovered that the "mechanic" did not re-attach the housing to my filter. In fact, it was dangling near the engine fan! DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE. More

Brought in a 2015 Forester with 37,000 miles with a CVT automatic transmission that was locking up(Subaru has extended the coverage on these because of all the issues they are having with them) and this dealership wanted to charge me $72.50 to diagnose the problem...then they called me and told me they would have to service the transmission for a cost of $225 before they could tell me if this would be covered under Subaru warranty. I said no thanks and took it to another Subaru dealer in Somersworth NH and they fixed it at NO CHARGE under the factory warranty. This is the second time this has happened with Exeter Subaru and I will never be back. More
Tacky Bought used car last Sept. Love the car and good experience with sales person. However when I got an oil change at another service center, I was told Bought used car last Sept. Love the car and good experience with sales person. However when I got an oil change at another service center, I was told that my air filter box was duct taped so they wouldn't check it. What kind of service center sells a car with a duct taped aur filter box....very tacky! More
You could do a better job yourself. If you're ok with work done to about 50 % - or 30 if you like living on the edge - of satisfaction, call to make your appointment right now! My boyfri If you're ok with work done to about 50 % - or 30 if you like living on the edge - of satisfaction, call to make your appointment right now! My boyfriend and I both own subarus. He made an appointment for an oil change and he got one. And a full engine clean as well. They left the oil cap off. He pulled into the driveway and the car smelled like burnt shoe leather. When he popped open the hood - bam! - oil. Everywhere. He called, they apologized profusely, promised a clean up and a car wash for the trouble of having to make the 30 minute return trip (an hour and a half wasted in total). Only to receive the vehicle back with the exact same uncleaned exterior but slightly cleaner under the hood. No offer for a "make up" oil change or other incentive to return. I traveled from Haverhill for this. They had appointments available. Now I know why. I'll be taking my vehicle to Auto Fair Subaru of Plaistow from now on. Thanks Exeter Suburu, you are underwhelmingly awful. Love it when shop managers and dealerships live up to their storied reputations. I won't be back and I'm making sure none of my other Subaruians will either. More

I tried different dealerships to get my car looked at, but got the run around with "we are really busy" or "we only do maintenance on Saturday". Sadly I could not even get in touch with dealerships with using the phone with so many BS excuses. I called Exeter Subaru and they were able to give me an appointment and I actually talked to somebody on the phone after a couple of rings. Exeter Subaru has good service hours on the weekend that is very helpful for 9-5 people like myself. I got to the dealership and noticed the service bays were full, but the service team looked and was in control of the department. I worked with Kyle, he personally gave me updates on my car while the car was being diagnosed. After it was done Kyle gave me the final update on what happened and what I should do going forward. Even the lady that took my info on the phone told me my car was being looked at, while I was waiting in the waiting room. The dealership inside out is very nicely designed and not overwhelming like many other dealerships around the region. Going forward I will definitely consider buying my next WRX or STI from Exeter Subaru because of my positive experience with the service team. More

I am glad they told me the truth. They let me leave the old one there a couple days until I decided to lease a new Impreza. More
Great experience during recent service visit! Came in for some routine maintenance for my 2013 Outback and actually showed up on the wrong day (my scheduled visit was next day). Joshua (service ad Came in for some routine maintenance for my 2013 Outback and actually showed up on the wrong day (my scheduled visit was next day). Joshua (service advisor) was not only able to accommodate my visit with ease, it was also done with great curtesy and attention to detail. I was back on the road in no time with both differentials serviced and state inspection completed. All I can say, this was the best experience in terms of quality of customer service, quality of facility and time I took to do the work that I have seen at any Subaru dealership in the area. This place gives a good run for the money to my Infiniti dealership where I take my QX56 (family rig). Thank you Subaru Exeter and awesome job, Joshua Batchelder! I will be back with my Outback for future service needs. More

(Let me say before I continue that I have been going to this dealership for a while/bought my car there and had never had this experience) However, to continue, when I went back for my car I noted that the windshield was cracked (about 12 inches or more). I informed the service staff who came out and one took a picture and was immediately dismissive of the fact that the damage could have been done on the premises. While this was being addressed another service person came to inform me that I did not fill up the loaner car ( which I had as I was told that morning that it would have cost $5/gal to fill up at the dealership). I must admit, I was upset at having two things happening at the same time. The service person insisted they would have to charge me for extra gas, I refused. Back to my windshield, I was told someone would contact me the next day, and when they did, they again reiterated that the damage was not done by them and went on to say there were cameras around. I asked for the service manager who was not available but I was told he would get back to me. This took close to 48 hours. When the service manager called, he started by saying that his staff did not inform him of damages to the car which they would have done if it was due to their negligence and he reviewed the films and he is sure it was not them. He went on to say that the attendant informed him that my visor was down and therefore I did not see the damage on the passenger side of the car. I assure it the damage was not there when I left my car and neither was there a markup of damages on the receipt I got for the monies I paid for my car. Overall, the way I was "handled" as a customer was below the standard of Subaru. I assure you I will never use this dealership again and will go elsewhere for my regular checkup. thank you. More
