Hello Sir After reading your review about your experience here at FIAT of Manhattan I was very trouble; which than caused me to reach out to you. Lemiron and I had no intention on presenting a negative sales experience. After speaking to the sales rep, it is understood that there has been a huge miscommunication on the presentation on numbers. I would like the opportunity to make this right. Please allow me to deal with you personal on this car buying transaction. Sincerely Caleb Denis Studio Director

Dear Mr. Denis: After what happened in the dealership a week ago Friday, I can't do business with people I do not trust. I will be taking my business elsewhere. My girlfriend and I felt emotionally beat up by your "SELLING" method. How can there be a miscommunication with the numbers when Lemiron was getting the numbers from you? There were no mistakes made on your part, except for the BIG mistake of not being upfront and honest with your potential customers. I still feel sick when I remember you saying to me when I came to you demanding my $1000 back "What seems to be the problem?" You knew what you were doing. It was deceitful, and both you and Lemiron need to clean up your act or I am sure your dealership will go out of business. When people do business inappropriately, people know it and the word gets around. It just does. It is absolutely disgusting the way you do business and I want nothing ever to do with you, Lemiron or your dealership. Sincerely, Ken Wolf

I will do everything I can to make up for the experience you had at our store, if you would be open to coming in and meeting with me. Customer service is the most important part of our business, because without you the customer we do not have a business. Please consider my invitation and hopefully I can restore your faith in us. KenWolf1 responded

Dear Patrick: Thank you for your kind note. To be honest, I don't know how you can make up for what went down at your dealership. We were openly lied to, hidden charges were put onto the contract, and I was embarrassed to have to threaten to call the police in order to get my deposit back after Caleb and Lemiron asked me to sign the contract again "because the numbers were in the wrong place" and all of a sudden there were hidden charges. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. If you are the owner, how can you allow this type of FRAUD to perpetrate at your dealership? Is this standard practice - not to be open and upfront about pricing etc.? Is it standard practice to keep people there for hours as you try to WEAR them down so that they won't see THE HIDDEN charges on the redone contracts? Is this who you are? Is this the type of integrity you foster at your dealership? To tell me the Leasing fee for Ally is $895.00 and it is really $295.00 is out and out STEALING! I am just an honest guy who was looking to get a car to make his girlfriend really happy. I wasn't playing any games. I just wanted to get a POP C so that we could go away and have some fun in the months ahead. If we can't financially make a deal, we simply can't, but to lie and put hidden charges in so all of a sudden when I come to pick up the car, I have to pay more jeopardizing my financial situation is NOT A WIN WIN Sale, and to sell in any other way, NOT BEING UP FRONT ABOUT ALL is UNETHICAL and disgraceful. So if this is the way you do business, people will know, people always know and eventually, when New Yorkers get the Trickery of what happens at your dealership they will choose to go elsewhere. UNLESS you make sure your sales staff stays honest! Because what we experienced at YOUR DEALERSHIP is the shadiest, most uncomfortable, unethical selling experience of my life. To waste our time and cause EMOTIONAL pain to a customer is disgusting. IF you are a man of integrity, fix what is going on at your dealership. If you want, I would love to talk with your further about this. I am unavailable to come to your dealership but I am available all day this Friday to talk, at (914) 837-8449. Sincerely, Ken Wolf

So I haven't heard from you with a new "deal" which you said you would get to me on Tuesday. It is now Wednesday morning. Was this your way of torturing us further? Or just getting me to not be so angry about how we were treated at your dealership by Lemiron and Caleb. At this point, I am determined to not let what happened to us happen to anyone else, for it was dishonest, shady, disrespectful and simply heinous. I appreciate your call but not following through after how we were emotionally tortured, lied to and manipulated by your staff is inappropriate especially in this situation Again, if you can't make a deal or an offer, simply have the courtesy to call or write and let me know - but don't get our hopes up again.

ken i apologize, i had a very bad accident and lacerated my entire tendon on tuesday, i had surgery and am back today. i do not respond well to threats however, if your goal is to make sure no one visits our dealership, i think we could both agree it would not make sense for both of us to entire into any type of relationship. i think this is fair. i wish you the best

Sep 06, 2012 -

KenWolf1 responded

Sorry to hear about your injury. And please forgive my passionate response, if I jumped to a conclusion. I felt it was simply more of the same of what I got in my first experience at your dealership, and you would think the same if you experienced what I experienced when I went to lease a car there. My goal is to fix this. To make sure this type of dishonest business does not continue. That is why I contacted Fiat of USA and why I responded to you on DEALERRATER.com. I am totally not threatening you. Absolutely not. That is your perception coming from your personal belief system. I am asking you and FIAT to step up and do the right thing. What happened at your dealership was inappropriate and downright dishonest in my opinion. I have talked with Fiat USA and have not heard back to have this handled and I talked with you, the owner of Fiat of Manhattan. If my employees did what your employees did to us I would have them apologize, or I would fire them, then I would apologize and I would work things out with my customer. Nothing has been taken care of on your end which is just sad and to me, proves all even more true. I can't say it is OK what your employees did to my girlfriend and I at your dealership. For it isn't. And no real apology from you and Fiat- just more lies. Now finding a way to make me seem like I am the wrong one here is more of the same. We did nothing wrong. We came to you TWICE in good faith and all we got back was lies. I went over with you piece by piece about what occurred in your dealership with Lemiron Starling and Caleb Denis and your response in their defense did not hold any water. It was clear, and real what happened at Fiat of Manhattan, both I and my girlfriend saw and experienced it. I resent the fact that you say I am threatening you. There are no threats here. But for the record, it is not OK the way you tried to do business with us. It was wrong, incredibly dishonest, and frankly, inhuman. And as a compassionate human being, and I can't sit by here and say "Oh Yeah, Fiat of Manhattan is Great!" , if you or Fiat of Manhattan AND USA are not willing to do what it takes to fix this situation.

KenWolf1 responded

I was thinking over the weekend (when you did not get back to me) that when we spoke over the phone never once did you say to me "If what you are saying about Lemiron and Caleb is true, I will fire them." They lied about the Ally financing charge. It is not $895. I went to another dealership and the finance charge is $295 for the exact same car. So they were in effect STEALING by overcharging $600 dollars. If an employee of mine was stealing from a customer I would fire them immediately without a second thought. And never once did you say that you were going to check into it. Never once did you say that you would reprimand them and make sure that this type of interaction never happens again in your dealership, and then you come and say that I am threatening you, and you make it about me, when your employees who you need to take responsibility for, are stealing, and lying and manipulating customers for their own personal gains. Don't you get it? Hidden charges are in effect a lie. If I am told that this is the FINAL AMOUNT that I will need to pay, and then I show up to pick up the car and am told that I OWE $1700 more in order to pick up the car, that is a lie. That is no way to do business, yet you never once said you would make sure that this sort of thing will never happen in your dealership. Even though you are not the the one in effect lying, you have to take responsibility for it for it is your dealership. Yet I didn't see it from you. This is not just about me and what happened there with my girlfriend. This is about what went down, the "selling" system there which probably has been going down for who knows how long. This didn't start with me and my girlfriend. We were there in total trusting good faith, and Caleb and Lemiron tried to take advantage of us with their dishonesty (what I am sure they have reframed as " the "selling system". And I am sure this isn't the first time all the wackiness I have outlined again and again has occurred at your dealership. You have to change this. It is wrong what happened. People should not be tricked. There should be no option for trickery in your business. It is not OK and will never be OK to lie and in effect steal in order to make a sale. (Even if the customer doesn't know it is happening.) It was shady, and dishonest what happened to us and we are still upset about it. It was inhuman. Abusive. And Lemiron and Caleb couldn't care less. I had to walk up to Caleb in front of your entire dealership and ask for my $1000 cash deposit three times. The third time I had to threaten to call the POLICE in order to get my deposit back! What? That is the way you do business? Caleb and Lemiron pretended that the forms were made out wrong, and then there is $1700 in hidden fees in the new contract that they want me to sign again? That is honest. And then I have the threaten to call the police in order to get my money back? It is appalling. There is an elephant in your showroom, and it is the selling model that you have allowed to be created in order to sell cars. It is dishonest. Immoral. Inhuman. And you need to step up, take responsibility and fix it, and not blame your customer.

KenWolf1 responded

Dear Patrick: Since I have not heard from you, I can only assume that you are not taking responsibility as a business owner with integrity to take care of the ELEPHANT that is sitting in your car dealership. The ELEPHANT called unethical and blatant dishonesty. Since I have not heard from you as a concerned, violated, and extremely upset patron to you your car dealership, I can only assume that you condone the type of lying, and manipulation that we experienced in trying to lease a POP C from Lemiron Starling and Caleb Denis. It is NOT ok to charge a customer $895 for a leasing fee when the fee is really $295. Does Ally know that you are doing this? Is that good for their business? I think not. It is NOT ok to lie to a customer and say the price is this, and then when they get into your dealership to say SORRY it is really this which is 20%. That is crooked, and blatantly disrespectful. It is NOT ok to take $1000 deposit from a customer, have him sign a contract and then, ask him to sign a contract again because “things were put in the wrong places” while the truth is HIDDEN FEES upwards of $1700 were added to the new contract. It is not OK for a customer in order to get his Deposit back to have to threaten to call the police, while your staff pompously says: “What seems to be the problem?” You just added $1700 in hidden fees to the lease and tried to rip us off and now you won’t give us our deposit back? -that is what the problem is! It is not Ok for YOU, Patrick to treat a patron to your dealership with such blatant disregard when they were so heinously treated by your staff. Shame on you! That you, as the owner allow this type of business to occur and then respond in such a cavalier manner to a customer whom your staff tried to steal from. Shame on you. I will never say that this is OK. We were abused emotionally by your staff and they in effect tried to STEAL from us. This is not little stuff, Patrick. This is huge. They lied about leasing fees, tried to place hidden fees in a “new contract”. They lied repeatedly again and again. Would you patronize a business with these ethics? You need to clean up your act there. People know when things are shady. Don’t you get it? Lack of integrity and dishonesty stinks. And it rots an organization. It doesn’t build business or relationships. Yes, times are bad, but that doesn’t mean you need to steal in order to pay your bills.
