In response to your review of Fairfax Motors, we are sorry for the unfortunate experience you had with us. We apologize for the miscommunication between our manager and owner on the selling price of the 2007 Jeep Cherokee purchased on September 30, 2016. We understand that you live an hour and half away from the dealership and appreciate you coming the distance to purchase the vehicle, but as you indicated this was the vehicle you were looking for and was a special purchase. During a conversations with the sales manager on Wednesday December 28 , we stated that we would take the vehicle to our service center (Sunoco) which is not a dealership, even though our 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first would expire on December 29, 2016. When your son and his uncle arrived on Saturday morning, December 31, 2016, I said I would get the Jeep to Sunoco service center for them check for the concerns you were having however the uncle offered to take the vehicle to Sunoco himself because he (the uncle) knew where Sunoco was located. Sunoco was able to reset all the codes except for the PCM, which needs to be taken to dealer to reset, as you know according to the research you had done prior and was discussed during your buying experience. Prior to your purchase on September 30, 2016, we did have the local Jeep dealership complete all recalls and re-programed the drive control module. As a preowned dealership, we try our very best to ensure our vehicles have been check thoroughly prior to any sale. Unfortunately, there are times when something happens after it drives off the lot regardless of how much work or money was put into the vehicle prior to sale. When you are purchasing a 10-year old vehicle, issues are more likely to arise due to the age and mileage - which I am sure you are aware. While we can’t take back any of the experiences you had with us or your feelings on how things were handled, please know we will use this experience in the future to better our communication among each other on both price changes that may affect our customers and service issues on our vehicle. Please know your experience is not the norm for us and we do sincerely apologize.
