Such a good deal I flew across the country. It all began with 6 month search for a used Toyota 4runner Limited or a new entry level (less expensive/ less features) 4Runner. I fell in love with the 4Runner, but the problem was everyone loves 4Runners, so used ones hold their value extremely well and there are rarely decent factory rebates or dealer discounts on the new ones. MSRP was the price everywhere I looked. 3 year old 4runners with 30,000+ miles were only a couple grand cheeper than brand new. I live in Northern California and literaly checked prices at every Toyota dealer west of Denver, Colorado. I just could not find a deal better than MSRP. My love of the 4Runner was about to surpass my hate of paying MSRP. I was about a day away from buying a 4runner in California when I got on facebook and noticed one of my Californian friends, receny turned Texan, (Gordon Dean)posted about his new job in Car Sales at Family Toyota Burleson. Burleson Texas was not exactly where I was planning on purchasing my 4Runner, since I live 2 hours north of Sacramento, but this post peaked my interest and I went to Family Toyota's website to see what kind of 4Runners they had in stock. I was shocked, their prices were thousands less for the exact same 4Runner (model/trim/color/features) anywhere west of Denver. I immediately contacted Gordon on facebook and asked if the prices were for real. He confirmed they where correct. They happened to have my dream version of the 4Runner, Blizzard Pearl exterior, Black Leather interior, in the limited trim levels with every option avaliable from Toyota (except electric running boards that I didn't want anyway). It was the same price I was about to pay for an average, SR5 trim with cloth seats in California. I told Gordon it was sold and I would be there in as soon as I could. I landed at DFW 2 days later at 2am, got a hotel and few hours of sleep. Gordon picked me up the next morning and took me to the dealership. I was head over heals about the 4Runner. It was beautiful, drove great and has more awesome technology than I have ever seen in a SUV. Everything went great inside the dealership. Family is the right name for this dealership, because that is what everyone makes you feel like when you are there. They weren't nice to me because I was the friend of the sales person. I observed other people in the dealership as my paperwork was being finalized and everyone was happy, employees and customers. You can tell that they have an intentional policy of treating people fairly and making sure they are comfortable. I think I was offer refreshments 6 times by 6 diffrent people in an hour and a half. The finance department was great. They got me a great rate from Toyota Finacial. I didn't get a special price because I knew someone who worked there. I paid the internet price, it just hapened to be the best price in the country. Gordon did a great job for me. I highly recommend finding him if you are going to buy a Toyota. He is friendly, professional and knowlegable. I think it was his second week at Family Toyota and his knowledge of the vehicles was better than most 10+ year car salesmen. My 4Runner has an 800 page owners manual because of all of the technology. Gordon gave me an hour long walk through of the vehicles technology. He didn't have to look at the book to figure it out. He could answer all of my questions about the complex AWD system and knew specific mechanical information few people actually know. Gordon Dean and Family Toyota Burleson did a flawless job and made the car buying experience actually enjoyable. This experience and the 4Runner converted me to Toyota. I will probably only buy Toyota from now on and I will fly across the country to buy my next vehical at Family Toyota Burleson without a second thought. No buyers remorse here. More
