I own a 2001 BMW 740iL with only 80,000 mies on it. I love this car and it has been maintained well. I did not have any problems with it until persistent battery problems and NAV/radio started occurring love this car and it has been maintained well. The causal factors for the battery/NAV/radio problems were very difficult to isolate but Brian Cullinan, the Director of Service at Fields BMW (Northfield, IL), worked in concert with BMW North America to troubleshoot the issues and Brian was an advocate on my behalf. My car is now working condition and I have the highest praise for Brian and his service team at Fields. I also want to compliment BMW North America for their assistance and support. More
The service advisor went out of his way to save me money.....:.He advised me that since since Bmw would not have the correct battery in stock for several months; I can purchase the correct battery at money.....:.He advised me that since since Bmw would not have the correct battery in stock for several months; I can purchase the correct battery at Sears & Fields can program & install it.....This process saved me several hundred dollars; .. since the battery had to be re-programed only once [not twice].....I believe Anibal Ruiz was very accomodating & used his thought process to help save me several hundred dollard......PLEASE CONTINUE TO KEEP QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES AS Mr. Ruiz....thank you; Menard Schwartz More
After looking for a newer certified pre-owned vehicle for approximately 3 months, I am very happy that I made the fateful decision to stop in to Fields BMW in Northfield. After visiting other Chicago area d approximately 3 months, I am very happy that I made the fateful decision to stop in to Fields BMW in Northfield. After visiting other Chicago area dealerships and dealing with sales associates who were more interested in their best interest over mine, it was very refreshing to deal with Evan Winston and his associate Travis Johnson (and the financing team). After test driving several vehicles (BMW 550i & 535xi) with differing levels of equipment, it was time to try and strike up a deal. Negotiations were straight-forward and "not pushy" at all. Evan went above and beyond the call of duty to make the deal and the numbers work for me. It doesn't end there though! Before making this rating and recommendation, I wanted to make sure the follow-up service (I purchased certified pre-owned with extended service agreement) went smoothly. One phone call and an appointment was set and everything with service went smoothly. All in all I am very satisfied with Evan and the Entire sales and service team at Field's BMW and I would recommend Field's to family and friends. When it is time to trade up to a newer car, they will definitely get my business again. More

Bought BMW X5 based on pictures, dealer description and carfax. Flew to Chicago to drive vehicle home to Minneapolis but condition of the X5 did not meet description or expectations ==> Previous body dam carfax. We purchased our 740il, new. from Fields. Our experience has been OUTSTANDING since day 1. Being an "Automotive Family" we've maintained a close relationship with Dave Mc Culloch, Gen Mgr, Jerry Marichal, Assist. Serv. Mgr. as well as some of the lead mechanics. Your whole whole operation have always been FIRST CLASS in our books. "Are you being helped, or have you been helped?" is often asked by the folks at Fields. You folks care and that's comforting. I happen to have a vehicle being serviced by your competitor (MB). They should come to some of your "Nice Guy Classes." They would learn a lot. Buy another family vehicle? I called them on a Friday around 5pm, asking if Horrible service and they tried ripping me off! My first experience with the dealer was over phone. I called them on a Friday around 5pm, asking if a certified pre-owned BMW 328xi was still for sale and if I could take it for a test drive. The sales person told me it was still available, and that I could take it for a test dive but I "...shouldn't plan on buying it tonight". WOW!!! So the dealer didn't want to sell me their car because they must have had better plans for Friday night (they weren't going to close for another 3 hours). When I did make it to the dealership a week later, I noticed the certified pre-owned BMW 328xi headlight washers did not retract after use, and that the front passenger door did not align to the body. The sales person told me; "The headlight washers are a know issue on BMW's; no one uses that feature anyways. The issue with the door is just a matter of tightening a latch, it isn't a big issue." When I asked him how can the car pass BMW-s certification process with a bad door, the sales person said, “The program focuses on the engine and the parts under the car, they don't look at the door." BS on both points! BMW does not have issues with the headlight washers; door latches do not loosen over time, and inspecting the body of the car is a major part of the BMW certification process. Do not trust this dealership! If you need a BWM go to Knauz in Highland Park, Bill Jacobs, or Patrick BMW. More
