He was helpful with trying to find what we wanted but he was up front with what we thought we may have been able to purchase but he was honest and said that it was going to be hard because that jeep was a limited edition and that orders could no longer be taken. He did tell us about the Rubicon jeep that they had on the lot and we had a great walk looking for it and just him telling us what he liked more about the Rubicon just to give us an ideal on what to expect once we saw it. He was very helpful and very informative about the comparison of both jeeps. I am so glad that the way things happened while we were shopping for the MOAB that we ended up with the Rubicon, Everything about the Rubicon jeep he was right about. The looks of the jeeps as to the overall look on the inside as well as the outside and all it features it was way worth to getting the Rubicon, You know the saying you get what you paid for well thats what we done and we wanted the best and we got it! I am giving the rating I am because I feel like Skyland auto is a dealership that is worth giving a rating for. I have purchased many vehicles over the last 30 years, and my wife and I have seen the entir auto is a dealership that is worth giving a rating for. I have purchased many vehicles over the last 30 years, and my wife and I have seen the entire range of car buying experiences, from the awful stereotypical sale to ones where they try to be your friend and relate, only to reveal during the process that the game is the same. I've had a good relationship with the local BMW dealership for years and have bought several cars from them, so I was nervous when my wife decided she wanted to buy something different. We looked at every model and every manufacturer over three months time, and while she liked the Mercedes ML350, the experience she had in the local Mercedes Benz dealership was not a good one. It was fake and impersonal, and our research before going in gave us enough information to know they were not about to work with us. We nearly bought another brand, but I decided to call the next closest Mercedes dealership blindly and get a quote as a last resort, which was Skyland Automotive in Asheville, NC. When I called, I explained to the receptionist that I had selected another car locally and did not have a lot of time, but would like to speak to an experienced sales person regarding a Mercedes. I spoke to Sam King, who from beginning to end, was up front, kind, and informative. He gave us a fair price, and honestly at first it was not as good as the local dealer price, but his willingness to understand our needs and the price we wanted to pay made us want to continue to work with him. He was aware of a discount with our professional association that applied to us, and after I verified the amount it actually put us below what the local dealership quoted by more than $1,000. During the time the car was on order, he kept us informed, and when it arrived earlier than expected he was just as excited as my wife was. The transfer of the vehicle was seamless, and they were prepared. There was no hard sell for "accessory" items or warranties, and there was not one "hidden" or "mandatory" fee that we did not know about and was there was mandated by the state, not the dealership. Service managers came by to introduce themselves, spent some time getting to know us, and their personal contact information was given to us. We have now had our car a week, and the follow up has been excellent. My wife loves her new Mercedes ML:350, but most of all we have both said that Sam King and the Skyland Automotive Group have without a doubt been the best car buying experience either of us have ever had. What made it the best was that we felt while Sam was there to do business and make a profit, we did far better on price in the end than our local dealership, and we did better than the Edmunds.com and Kelly Blue Book averages. The way we were both treated was more than worth the 90 minute drive it took to get there, and if we buy another Mercedes, we will do it there. Five stars in every area, no question. More
