Awful, Degrading, and down right WRONG!! My husband and I went to 5 star Mazda in Macon GA to buy a car we saw online. As I told the lady, last name Lamar, what we saw online she rudely cut me off and and told me "No, that's not the car you want". "Your not going to get that one". After I tried to explain to her what was going on and why I WANTED to buy that car she continued to tell me no. My husband took over after that and she got all of his info for a credit check. She told my husband that she was going to give it to the finance manager. As we were waiting she made it a point to tell us that "He was calling in a favor for us!" We waited for about 30 minutes, my husband and I both walked to the desk where the finance manager was and asked what was going on. He then asked how much we could put down. I asked how much the down payment would be for the car I WANTED. He said " No, you are not going to get that one" I told him I had $500 to put down on the one I WANTED. I walked out of the dealership while my husband continued to talk with him. We left due to I had to pick my kids from school. An hour or so later, the lady called wanting my info for a credit check, so I gave my info and she said she would call back. While we waited for a return call, my husband informed that they asked him for a bank statement because they needed to see how and where we spent our money, and told my husband to have his sister cosign with him. By now I am upset. The lady calls back and said " Can you come up $1000 for a down payment" My husband then asked her " for the car we want?" She said "No, it's for a new model car, if you can do $1000 downs!" My husband told her he would have to talk with me but there was no way we could do $1000 down, she then says " Well, you get your check tomorrow, you can do it then." After talking with my husband about all of this I called her back. I had some question. She still dismissed me so I told her to take the deal and trash it. The next day and rep of the dealer calls and asks how my visit went. Boy did she get an ear full. After that the GM calls and tells my husband that he wanted to work some kind of deal where he would loan us $500 to go with our $500 to have the $1000 down payment. My husband asked him what car he was talking about. The GM said "Let check and I will call you right back." That was Friday afternoon. Still haven't got a call back. So this morning I check online to see if they still have the car I want, they do and they lowered the price on it. So in short, don't go to these people. They DO NOT CARE about what the customers wants, they try to sell you a car that gets them the most commission. I am a 38 yr old woman and I feel as if I was looked at as a dumb female that don't know nothing, I have bought many car before and I always got what I wanted not what they wanted me to have. Seems to me the whole staff needs a refresher course on customer service. More

Do Not Purchase I bought a brand new 2016 Mazda 6 GT 8/2015 (that took forever because of the lack of sense of urgency from finance). Unfortunately the vehicle was to I bought a brand new 2016 Mazda 6 GT 8/2015 (that took forever because of the lack of sense of urgency from finance). Unfortunately the vehicle was totaled 11/2015. 12/2015, I dropped my warranty services & its now March 2016 & they have not handled the situation. Everyone there is more worried about making a sale as opposed to assisting customers. Only 1 finance manager on most days, you get transferred to people who do not return calls. Then when you do hear from them, you get information like we sent a check to the WRONG bank?! & it was for the WRONG amount!!! Or you get information like "oh I'm sorry the 1st person didn't tell you there's cancellation fees & proration involved. I can't buy another car because they can't get this handled. No accountability & they have no process in place that's streamlined for customers. I will do everything I can to spread the word to not purchase a vehicle from them even though some people are nice. If the collective is bad, the whole business is bad. I swear to GOD I will never be affiliated with Five Star in any fashion because of this. More

Dorothy Lamar helped me obtain hard to find MX5 Club stick I had being looking everywhere for a MX 5 Club Straight shift. I live in Birmingham, Al. and have never met Ms. Lamar, but from our dealings over the phone I feel like I know her well. She is without a doubt the friendliest, most helpful car sales person I have done business with. She is very patient and will explain anything that you ask her to. She is also very knowledgeable about the cars that she sells. The car that I wanted was on sale, but I couldn't get to the dealership until a few days after the sale was over. Dorothy (and her sales manager) still got me the sale price for my car. Five Star also gave me more for my trade in than I had planned to ask for! I am very happy with the Five Star Mazda buying experience. I recommend Five Star Mazda to everyone. Ask for Dorothy! More

Other dealers told me they would try to ?bait & switch? on the price quoted to me, but that was not the case. They delivered on every promise they made with no surprises. Steve was friendly, knowledgeable about the product, and very patient during the price negotiation. He didn't pressure us at all, answered all questions and did a great job going over all the details during the vehicle turnover. Drove 275+ miles to this dealership...was it worth it? You bet it was for the money they saved me. Their price beat everyone else by a considerable margin. Based on my experience so far, I would certainly recommend them. More

I Negotiated the price of the vehicle via telephone calls and emails and Dorothy had all the paperwork ready to go and waiting for me when I got to the dealership. She honored the deal we worked out without question. This dealership has gone out of their way to take care of me. I drove 85 miles to buy my new vehicle from them and got a great deal, better than any deal from any other dealer around Atlanta. I would recommend them to all of my family and friends. More
No honesty or integrity I Began negotiating the price for a Mazda 6 over phone. We were close on price but not yet at a price i felt comfortable paying. The salesman said that sales manager told him that once I get to dealership that their would be more room to negotiate. Financing was approved and price wise we were $600 apart. I stressed to my salesman many times that I live an 1 1/2 hours away and for me to drive that far that I need assurance that their will be more room for the price to come down otherwise I wouldn't make the trip. He said their would be and seemed sure we could meet in the middle on the price difference. I made the 1 1/2 hour drive with my family and once I arrived at the dealership and sat down the price had gone up $100 from the last price that i was told on the phone. The manager said that he apologized for his salesman but he wasn't lowering the price. The salesman seemed confused by this from what the manager had told him earlier. When it seemed obvious that nothing would be accomplished I packed my family back up and left. I drove a total of 3 hours to spend 10 minutes at this place. This was by far my worst experience at a dealership and confident I will never return or recommend it. More
