For the safety of our guests and employees, we don't allow test drives to happen in those conditions on manual GT Mustangs. We did offer a test drive of an automatic GT as they are safer in damp conditions. We would love to continue to work with you in getting your Ford Mustang GT. Hey Jon, I know you have to protect your interests by sending me this email. My issues is what Mike told me which is “From time to time our sales manager will look out and decide who can drive the car and who can’t” Never once did he say anything about the roads and we both know that the roads weren’t wet, it sprinkled for less than 5 minutes so that wasn’t the issue. Again I was on the phone with Mike who over the phone offered me the test drive in a manual 5.0 GT and then when I got there Mike instructed some of your employees to go get the car, he even took a copy of my driver’s license. It wasn’t until your sales manager Scott Berry saw me and then it all went out the window. And what Mike told me which if you’d like my son can repeat as it’s stuck in his head which is called discrimination and you can’t cover it up. Never did Mike say if it’s wet we don’t allow the Mustang GT Manual transmission not to be driven over the phone and not once when I got there! It wasn’t until Scott Berry saw me, and I keep saying this so you can really understand because this isn’t ok. This is 2021 this type of racial profiling is inexcusable and unlawful. You can’t understand this because you will never walk a day in my shoes! This is a daily conversation in my house and my son who is 10 is still trying to make sense of this. So while Scott did say sorry, I question he is really sorry about what he said or sorry he got caught? And as owner your responsible for this nonsense and the fact that Ford wants to help do something about it tells me everything. So I get how bad this looks on your dealership but I’m not responsible for that fact you are! You hired this person so please stop trying to justify this and just call it what it is! That’s how people move on, justify only make a horrible situation worse.
