First, they allowed me to drive off the lot with tires that were in very bad and unsafe condition. They scheduled me with their tire shop to have them replaced, but when I showed up for the appointment, the tire shop had no record of me, didn’t know anything about the situation, and didn’t even have my tire size available. It was a complete waste of my time and showed a serious lack of communication and organization. To resolve the issue myself, I purchased new tires and the dealership agreed to reimburse me $40 per tire. It has now been over three weeks of constant follow-up, and I still have not received the reimbursement they promised. In addition, when we first looked at the vehicle, we noticed that some body panels were a different shade of color. When questioned, we were told and even “guaranteed” that the vehicle had not been resprayed. However, after getting the vehicle home and inspecting it more closely, we found clear signs of repainting, including overspray in the door jambs and torn seals around the doors. They provided a due bill to correct the paint mismatch, but based on my experience so far, I have very little confidence that this will be handled properly, especially if it involves one of their partner shops. While we were at the dealership, we also noticed several other vehicles on the lot with very obvious paint imperfections, and these were not inexpensive cars. Based on what I saw and experienced, I would strongly suggest that anyone considering purchasing a vehicle here inspect it very closely and not rely solely on verbal assurances. Overall, this experience has been exhausting. Buying a vehicle is a major investment, and customers should be able to trust the condition of the vehicle and the dealership’s follow-through. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and failure to honor commitments have left me very disappointed. More
TL;DR: My first car purchase here turned into a nightmare. I was steered into an expensive car, charged about $3,000 in undisclosed add-ons and offered a financing rate about 3x my bank’s, misled a nightmare. I was steered into an expensive car, charged about $3,000 in undisclosed add-ons and offered a financing rate about 3x my bank’s, misled about insurance and told an accident was only “cosmetic” when it wasn’t. I drove off with a faulty car (headlamp, airbag, wheel issues), no second key, and then was blamed, ignored, and made to chase them for days. Over a month later, I’m still dealing with repair hassles. As a first-time buyer, I genuinely feel taken advantage of and would not recommend this dealership. More
12/15/2025: Turns out, Thomas not only didn't go over the optional add-ons, he also lied about my ability to cancel the warranties associated with them. When I initially reached out to Thomas, he told the optional add-ons, he also lied about my ability to cancel the warranties associated with them. When I initially reached out to Thomas, he told me all I needed to do was give him my loan number and the list of items to cancel and he would promptly submit a form for correction. Next, he told me we would have to wait 30 days to cancel because the files were still being processed. After I prodded him to furnish me with the documents so that I can fill them out myself, he told me he'd put me in contact with Jose Gonzalez. He claimed Jose will be able to complete the cancellation once he sends me the documents to fill out. THIS IS WHERE THE LIES BECAME OBVIOUS: Jose stopped responding to my emails. I, immediately, text Thomas to have him remind Jose to send me my documents. Thomas said "I will speak to him". That was A WEEK AGO. So I decided to escalate the situation because this involves my finances. I know no one at Fontana cares after I signed for the car so it's now my responsibility to correct their negligence. So I called the warranty companies that are responsible for the after market items. I was able to cancel one product RIGHT AWAY. This means Thomas lied about the 30 days period. But the lies just got worse: two of the add-ons cannot be cancelled nor refunded. That's straight from the warranty company's cancellation team. So I called Austin, Fontana's finance manager who "helped" me through my loan. Austin claims I can cancel one of the products after waiting 6 months. But another employee that I spoke to, who wasn't Thomas, told me I had already exceeded my 15 days and can no longer modify my contract. Except I waited because Thomas told me we wouldn't be able to do anything until 30 days go by. I call Ascent, the add-on warranty company, and they showed me the contract I signed. Turns out Thomas DID NOT include the last two pages of the document with my package. The last two pages CLEARLY STATE: NO REFUND OR CANCELLATION. I've already escalated this matter to Wells Fargo executives. They've opened a case against Fontana Motors Direct. I've given them every detail and will be sending them my entire text exchange with Thomas that PROVES he didn't walk me through the optional add-ons. The text also proves Thomas said he could cancel the products if I just give him my loan documents and fill out a cancellation form. It's all lies. Austin will not send me an email promising that I will be able to cancel the products after 6 months despite insisting I will be able to. He actually said "I don't commit anything to writing. That's not what I do. I will not sign anything or send you anything. I only do business through speaking". Which basically translates to: "I know what I do is illegal so if I sign something, and it's not possible, I'll get sued to the ground. So I won't be giving you my signed word, you're just gonna have to trust me". Do NOT give your business to these crooks. Wells Fargo will help me take care of this mess. More

Buyer Beware – Hidden Fees at Fontana Motors Direct (15836 Valley Blvd, Fontana, CA 92335) Please make sure to read your sales contract very carefully before signing anything at Fontana Motors Direct. (15836 Valley Blvd, Fontana, CA 92335) Please make sure to read your sales contract very carefully before signing anything at Fontana Motors Direct. They do not explain additional charges clearly, especially for things like “Safeguard Protected Devices.” Fun fact: That device never worked for me, and they didn’t even provide the login credentials to access it. Completely useless. I went in for a car that was listed at $12,000, but after all the hidden fees and add-ons, the total came out to over $15,000 – not including registration fees. That’s an extra $3,000+ that I was never told about until it was too late. They will not walk you through the contract or explain what you're being charged for. I lost money because I trusted them and didn’t double-check the fine print. More

Horrible customer service! After we had taken the car for a test drive and gone inside to talk pricing, it seemed like the guy didn't know what he was doing. He was hesitant to give us a breakdown of the pricing, and once we started questioning why the car was more expensive than the listed price, he passed us on to another sales associate. Whatever you do, avoid a salesperson named Austin! We would have been more willing to buy if he hadn't been so rude, talked down to us, and kept persisting that we shouldn't leave the dealership to think on pricing, even though we had plans and kept saying the given rate was out of our price range. One of the worst dealership experiences ever! More
