I spoke with D****, a saleman, and I had over two months left on my current lease, but I could turn the car in early and Ford was going to pay the remainder of my lease. Still, I had come in to just look and advised him of such. I told D**** what I was possibly interested in, and he had me put a NO OBLIGATION $100 hold on a vehicle for which I was going to tell him whether or not I wanted it the following week, up to eleven days later. He took down information so that everything would be ready, in case I decided to get the vehicle. I questioned him a bunch of times to verify that this was a no obligation $100 hold when he was inputting my information in the computer, and he said yes. It all seemed very casual. I did this because again, I was really just looking, but in case I changed my mind, the vehicle was being held with no obligation. He knew I was leaning towards not getting the vehicle, as I stated many times. My current payment was due on March 18th, so on March 17th, I emailed D****to advise him that I decided against leasing the vehicle. A week later, I received a Credit Alert from my Credit Monitoring Service that Ford of Smithtown had run my credit through on March 19th. This caused my credit score to go down, including my Auto and Home Insurability Rating because this was a Hard Inquiry, and I haven’t had any hard inquiries on my credit report in over two years. I contacted D****, first wondering why my $100 HOLD had not been credited to my credit card and second to request that this inquiry be removed because not only had I not authorized running my credit report, and it was none of their business, but this $100 wasn’t a deposit, but a hold until I decided whether or not I wanted to vehicle, for which D**** knew was most likely a no. Third and most importantly, it was two days after I said I definitely did not want the vehicle. First, D**** said he would take care of it as there must have been some miscommunication with the Finance Department, but that it was not a Hard Inquiry, then he said that the Finance Department staff said it was perfectly legal because if I didn’t have the credit to lease the vehicle, there was no point in holding it. I was never told this, and if I was told this, I certainly would not have placed the no-obligation hold on the vehicle. At no point did I give my permission to run my credit report, and at no point was there any talk of it. My report was run two days after I decided against leasing the vehicle. The last time I spoke with D****, he tried to turn the tables by saying, “Now, I look like the bad guy.” The point was someone did something wrong, and instead of taking care of it, it was now all about him. He got loud with me, told me that it didn't bring down my score (yes, it did), and then told me he’d call me back, and of course, he never did. Now, I have to waste the time to contact the credit reporting agencies to see if they can reverse this and I also will file a complaint with the FTC. I’ve already contacted Ford Credit, my current lessor to complain. More

My salesman Rob is new to the industry but conducted himself in a way that made him seem extremely comfortable in turn putting me at ease. He was not pushy at all which I have found most salesmen in the industry are. My preferences seemed to be the most important thing rather than making the sale and he worked on the price for me which made it seems as though he was buying the car with me rather than selling it to me. The finance manager Anthony and the sales manager Michael were also a pleasure to work with. I have had previous experiences where I have left the show room in tears feeling swindled in some way but not here. I would highly recommend this dealship and when when my new lease is up, plan on going back there. More

Unlike other dealers, the people come right up to you and greet you. I was not overlooked. I sat with Greg Bailey and went over everything about the car I was interested in. Unlike other dealers, he seemed very interested and just as excited as I was to buy my first car. He answered all questions I had, and gave me very informative information about the vehicle. He was everything but a typical Salesman. Greg is very friendly and professional at the same time. I strongly suggest going in to this dealer and asking to speak with Greg! He will make sure you leave happy and is very prompt with answering all calls and emails! More

We agreed on the price and terms and Darren went to the manager for approval, the manager came over and said the price was wrong because of the tax and the payment was raised $25.00 we said we understood they made a mistake changed the price that the manager approved . Everything seemed fine . We gave a $2000.00 down payment when we signed the the contract and was told we can pick up the car on Monday. When I arrived I asked Darren to do paperwork first then switch plates they had already switched my insurance . I asked several times to do paperwork first but he said the finance manager was busy . He told me not to worry all was fine . When it was finally time to sign I asked the salesman to sit in with us but they wouldn't allow that to happen. That's when they put the lease in front of me they raised the payment $50 without ever informing me . When I questioned it the finance manager said they made a mistake in the tax. I know taxes are high in New York but $25 one day and $50 more the next wow! That's when they became out right unprofessional and nasty . They told me the contract I signed which I still have is worthless. Well I wasted my valuable time Sunday and Monday to lease a car. They should have called me in the morning and told me there was a change in the amount of the payment, Instead of me coming in and hoping I would sign and not catch it. I then said cancel the deal and they came back with a new payment now only $20 more, that's funny how do you do that? How do you not pay tax since that was the reason for the raise in the payment? Isn't that a criminal act to not to pay taxes? We think the dealership acted like criminals and would never buy a car from them. ,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BUYER BEWARE OF THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!! More

Worst experience Ever My husband and I went to the dealership looking for a new car. We started out looking for a car that was clean pass eligible. Although we really liked My husband and I went to the dealership looking for a new car. We started out looking for a car that was clean pass eligible. Although we really liked the Lincoln MKZ hybrid it wasn't clean pass eligible so we were going to get the fusion. We met Rich Dupont who was a very nice salesmen and seemed very knowledgeable about the fusion. We went home to think about it and while looking up some info on the clean pass I discovered that the Lincoln MKZ hybrid was now clean pass eligible. We called the dealership immediately to discover they weren't aware of it. My husband and I immediately went in to see Rich and take the Lincoln for a test drive. we decided to purchase the MKZ hybrid. We filled out the paper work and put a down payment on the car. Rich put a "sold" sign with our name in the car. We got the VIN number, we went home, we told Rich we would be back on Mon to pick the car up. My husband took care of the insurance and emailed Rich the cards. Rich had gotten ill and was out for a few days. On Mon my husband calls to tell them we would be in to pick up the car only to be told they sold the car out from under us. Then they lied about it, they blamed their own work associate (who was ill)they took his sale right out from under him, they breached their own contract and they were outwardly nasty and condescending to us. Frank the other sales guy then tried to shove a car we didn't want down our throats. He was rude and disrespectful to the customer. He kept telling us that Rich dropped the ball and that was why the car was sold out from under us. (Nice when one sales team member bad mouths another to the customer! Very professional!)Then we found out that Lincoln dropped their prices by 1000 dollars and supposedly the Smithtown dealership had no knowledge of this. When my husband asked if they were aware of that fact, the manager Steve wanted to know if my husband was insulting his intelligence, my husband replied that he was asking a question, the manager then replied that he was not aware of that fact!! (You can't insult intelligence when there is no intelligence there!) They are truly some of the worst salesman on the face of the earth! NEVER,NEVER again will I ever go to those lying, unethical, untrust worthy people again!! No ONE should ever use them!!! More

From the very first time I spoke with Jason he listened to what I had to say and found me the truck I wanted. He never tried to pressure me into a sale and when I did decide on the vehicle the transaction went very smooth. From the trade in to when I drove off the lot there were no surprises. I would definitely recommend Jason Heyman and Smithtown Ford if you are considering a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. If you stop in to see Jason, tell him Dennis sent you!!! Now if I could only find an RV dealer like this!!!! More
