Great people! I had spent all day shopping the Chicagoland area looking at GTIs and Focus STs. After passing through many dealerships and seeing all extremes, none I had spent all day shopping the Chicagoland area looking at GTIs and Focus STs. I don't write reviews (I leave things like that up to my wife) but I felt the need to let everyone know what an amazing experience I had at Anderson VW of Crystal Lake. First, I wanted a car that had yet to be released in the US and, of course, wanted additional (non-standard) upgrades. Not only was Anderson first to contact me, but they were the first to call when the color/combo was going to be shipped to the US. Amy did a great job in handling the transaction. Second, Anderson was willing to negotiate even though it was a car that is brand new and selling for OVER invoice. They cared about me as a customer and really put my desires over making a profit. Third, Bob L. is a great guy! He kept us entertained throughout, but most importantly, he remained honest and upfront. I truly appreciated his down-to-earth nature coupled with his breadth of knowledge regarding the car-buying experience and VW in general. He was so easy to talk to and was not the "Typical car salesperson" that everyone dreads. In fact, the whole dealership really has that mentality. We stopped in before the car was delivered and Jimmy was working with 3 other people, only to take a small break to make sure we were helped and offered us a test drive knowing we wouldn't see our car for at least a few weeks. Fourth, we were really treated like part of the family. From explanations as to all of the car's features and amenities, to making sure we felt comfortable in every decision along the way, we really felt like this is a place that anyone would love. They are completely dog friendly with an outdoor turf complete with a fire hydrant!- to the indoor water station for when your car is serviced. With little touches, a modern decor, and the BEST STAFF you could ask for, I have no idea why you wouldn't go to Anderson VW! Bob Pearl, the sales manager, was beyond accommodating and actually proved that car buying is an enjoyable experience under the right dealership. Thank you Anderson- you have customers for life!
